Underwater UFOs

This week's files cover: Mars water and dust devils. Underwater UFOs by Bill Hamilton and painting by Roberto Castillo, and UFO propulsion. UFOs were seen over Alabama, California, Florida, Idaho, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, and Oklahoma. Many sightings were also reported in Argentina, Canada, Denmark, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

The purpose of these files is to report weekly the UFO eyewitness and photo/video evidence that occurs on a daily basis around the world and in space. Many people claim it is impossible for UFOs to visit Earth, I ask you only to keep an open mind and watch the evidence we accumulate each week. These Files make the assumption that extraterrestrial intelligent life not only exists, but my hypothesis is that of the over one hundred UFOs reported each week many represent alien craft.

Mars is bright in the morning sky

Contrary to previous reports that the Mars will be as big as Earth in the evening sky, Earth and Mars are converging for a close encounter this year on October 30, 2005 at 69 million kilometers. To the unaided eye, Mars will look like a bright red star, a pinprick of light, certainly not as wide as the full Moon. The visual magnitude of Mars will be -2.3. Even inattentive sky watchers will notice it, rising at sundown and soaring overhead at midnight.

Water at Martian South Pole

Thanks to the European Space Agency’s Mars Express, we now know that Mars has vast fields of perennial water ice, stretching out from the south pole of the Red Planet.

Early attempts at chemical analysis suggested only that the northern cap could be composed of water ice, and the southern cap was thought to be carbon dioxide ice. Recent space missions then suggested that the southern ice cap, existing all year round, could be a mixture of water and carbon dioxide. But only with Mars Express have scientists been able to confirm directly for the first time that water ice is present at the South Pole too.

Mars Express made observations with its OMEGA instrument to measure the amounts of sunlight and heat reflected from the Martian polar region. When planetary scientists analyzed the data, it clearly showed that, as well as carbon dioxide ice, water ice was present too. Hundreds of square kilometers of ‘permafrost’ surround the South Pole. Permafrost is water ice, mixed into the soil of Mars, and frozen to the hardness of solid rock by the low Martian temperatures. This is the reason why water ice has been hidden from detection until now - because the soil with which it is mixed cannot reflect light easily and so it appears dark.

However, OMEGA looked at the surface with infrared eyes and, being sensitive to heat, clearly picked up the signature of water ice. The discovery hints that perhaps there are much larger quantities of water ice all over Mars than previously thought. The second part comprises steep slopes known as ‘scarps’, made almost entirely of water ice, that fall away from the polar cap to the surrounding plains. The third part was unexpected and encompasses the vast permafrost fields. Thanks to Space.com and ESA.

Martian dust devils

Martian summer! Finally, the days are long, just like on dear old Earth. And daytime highs rocket all the way up to a balmy 20°C (68°F) from the summer nighttime low of -90°C (-130°F), meaning you and your fellow astronauts can warm up your machinery earlier to get a good start on mining operations. [ ]But those warm daytime temperatures also bring alive the Martian dust devils. These monster columns towering kilometers high and hundreds of meters wide, 10 times larger than any tornado on Earth can whip sand and dust around at 70 miles per hour dropped visibility to zero, scouring your faceplate, driving dust into every fold and wrinkle of your spacesuit.

The sand in the lower part of a Martian dust devil would be the biggest hazard," The atmospheric pressure on Mars is only 1 percent that at sea level [on Earth], so you wouldn't feel much wind against you. But you'd still be pinged by high-speed material."Moreover, the moving dust and sand may become electrically charged, to the point of "arcing to your spacesuit or vehicle, and creating electromagnetic interference," adds William M. Underwater UFOs

Bill Hamilton writes “What secrets lurk in ocean depths? Are there alien forms of intelligent life that occupy the vast volumes of water that constitute our oceans, seas, and lakes?” The largest of our oceans, the Pacific, covers 64,000,000 square miles and reaches a depth of 36,198 feet, a depth that no ray of sunlight ever reaches. Could these depths hide alien submarine bases?

Underwater UFOs have been sighted on many occasions lifting out of their submerged depths and taking to the air. In an article entitled "UFOs - at 450 Fathoms," UFO Reporter Ed Hyde told of the sighting made by Dr. R. J. Villela, a Brazilian scientist, who saw a UFO smash through an estimated 40 feet of ice at the South Pole and soar into the sky at amazing speed.

It was author and researcher Dr. Ivan T. Sanderson who suggested that aliens could remain undetected by building their bases beneath the world's oceans. Dr. Sanderson found that by actual count, over 50 percent of the UFO sightings had occurred over, coming from, or plunging into or coming out of water. This includes oceans, seas, lakes, and reservoirs. Of the oceanic UFOs (some term them USOs or Unidentified Submersible Objects), one was tracked by the U.S. Navy near Puerto Rico in 1963. Of course many of these objects have been tracked over Puerto Rico since that time. On a training maneuver, a sonar operator detected a sub aqueous object traveling at over 150 knots! The technicians tracked this object for four days and it maneuvered down to the incredible depth of 27,000 feet. Submarines of 1963 could not dive further than a fraction over a mile into the ocean deeps. What kind of submersible could withstand the tremendous ocean pressures? Alabama ball of light

I saw a ball of light on July 2, 2005, from 8:45 to 9 PM, coming from the south, moving north at a commercial jets pace. Its altitude was around 15,000 feet as a best guess. There were no strobes or colored wing tip markers. It was the size of a BB at arm’s length and was just a white ball of light. I called for my wife to come look, and we watched as it passed just east of their position. As it did the thing increased speed to around 1000 mph and changed course toward the northeast. We watched it until the trees blocked our view. I always call these "Flying Stars" as I have seen a number of them over the past several years. Several times I have seen them as a star, just setting there as stars do, and all of a sudden it starts moving off. I actually managed to catch one on video a year or two ago. I filmed three red lights in a triangle shape that passed close to a private plane and flew over me. Thanks to Brian Vike

California cylinder images

MODESTO ­ R. David Anderson writes, “I took this picture at dusk on July 7, 2005 at around 8:50 PM, when I noticed some kind of craft toward my left that appeared a little above the tree that is in our front yard.”

I rapidly rotated my camera on its mount and took one picture. There were several brilliant lights that surrounded this craft. It was impossible to make out the shape of the craft because the lights were so brilliant. The lights did not strobe or flash like a normal aircraft array would. Each light glowed with a high intensity. To the unaided eye the lights all seemed to merge into one, in the picture there appears to be several lights. Thanks to R. David Anderson

California images -- I noticed that one of the pictures that you had last week in Filer's Files looked very similar to a picture that I had taken about a week ago. The white things in the air in the picture that I took above my house, set against the rising sun, are drifting seeds that are from cottonwood trees in the area. This may not be what was in the Canadian picture, but it does appear to be identifiable. The cottonwood seeds are white, and drift in the breeze like dandelion seeds but are twice the size.

SAN MARCOS -- I went outside for a smoke at 11:30 PM, on July 6, 2005, at a couple hundred feet that reflected light from the streetlights. The creature zipped directly over my neighbor’s house and continued to move side to side, in a space of fifty feet and then stopped. It had big "eyes" and wing-like appendages, and was probably 2 to 3 feet in width. It remained still and I could see wavering reflections from its "wings". They were not beating like a bird's, but showed shimmering reflections from the streetlights.

I felt threatened, and said out loud, "I see you!" Then it went from stationary to out of sight, right over my head in an instant. Immediately, it zipped into view directly above my head, obviously studying me! I could see really weird large and intensely dark "eyes". It seemed surprised by my looking right at it and turned away and disappeared like a shot. It had a birdlike shape, but was thicker. My impression was of reflections of the streetlights on wing-like appendages, and big dark eyes. It wasn't a bird, bat or any familiar nocturnal creature. Thanks to Brian Vike

HESPERIA ­ Two metallic disks were seen at 1 PM, on June 28, 2005, above the building where the witness works. The witness was able to get several other workers to come outside to view the disks. Five were watching the two disks for ten minutes, then they where joined by two other crafts. One was wobbling like it was having trouble as the craft moved across the sky and then came to a stop and stayed their for a few minutes. The one that looked like it was having troubles descended towards the lower part of the southwestern sky soon after they vanished. Thanks to Peter Davenport Director www.ufocenter.com

MOUNT SHASTA ­ A couple saw a little silver saucer-shaped "scout ship" skipping along across the top of the mountain. We were driving on I-5 and both saw it. Another happened right in our front yard. That one was lights in the night sky in the shape of a huge triangle which moved slowly from south to north, on an upward angle towards the full moon.

The object flew in front of the moon (it was bigger than the full moon) and vanished, as if someone simply turned off the lights with a switch. Thanks to Peter Davenport Director www.ufocenter.com

Florida UFOs captured on film

HERNANDO BEACH -- These photos were taken last year in July by my sister with her new HP Photosmart 850 digital camera. There were five photos taken at the time and this was the last photo taken that showed five white triangles. I would like to remain anonymous, thank you. ANTANA -- An interesting report was submitted to NUFORC recently, together with photographs. Four lights were observed moving slowly around 8:45 PM, on June 29, 2005. A 13 year old boy ran into the house asking his Mother for a camera as he saw something strange in the sky. About 90 seconds after he went back outside, there was a tremendous boom. My son states that, he saw four lights that appeared to be on a circular object moving very slowly southward. The object disappeared at the same time of an extremely loud boom. Idaho close encounter with disk

BOISE -- This photo was taken July 1, 2005, from the Idaho Center Outdoor Amphitheater.

The photographer states, "I was snapping a photo of the KQFC airplane banner and a tethered blimp balloon and wanted to get them in the same shot, so I took a several photos." This is the only image that had the UFO object in question. This Blog was started because the photographer took three UFO photos within ten days. MERIDIAN ­ The male witness states, “I was approached by a strange flying light while driving home on July 8, 2005. I was driving home to Meridian with my aunt and her grand kids from Fruitland, Oregon, and we left getting close to midnight. I took the Franklin exit off of Interstate 84 by mistake. So I just headed north till I hit Cherry Lane Road that is a back road to Meridian. There was no other traffic and all we could see was a lot of open unused fields.

From out of nowhere a strange light approached the side of the car at ground level and then flew right over us. It hardly made any sound. All I could see was four bright white lights that were round in shape. It felt like I was being watched for a split second. After it flew over the car it dove down into the field next to us and its lights went out. I saw that it didn't look anything like a plane. It looked more like a long wing or saucer shaped. I saw one light come on after the bright ones went out. It was a small blinking blue light. After it had swooped down in the field, I saw it whip around and jump back up in to the sky. I felt lucky this thing didn't crash into us and I just kept driving. I looked back in my rear view mirror and it was just hovering above the trees.

The female witness states: We were going back to Meridian, Idaho and were driving along west on Cherry Road. All of a sudden a strong light from out of no where beamed on us. It was a bright white light. The object flew right in front of us and passed us in to a field. A beaming strong light shined on us as the object flew by. The lights went out and a blue flashing light came on. Missouri 1956 photograph analyzed

KANSAS CITY -- Don Burleson PhD has enlarged and edged the 1956 photo sent by Richard Buchli D.V.M. PhD. The photo was taken by a twelve year old boy in 1956. Roswell crash in New Mexico

Tom Carey writes, “I have just returned from NM/Roswell after a week down there.” After spending parts of three days out in the desert and after years of searching, I can report that Don Schmitt and I have located the final Roswell crash site where the remainder of the craft that exploded near Corona finally came to rest. The site's location is not based upon mathematical models but upon the accounts of military and civilian eyewitnesses who were actually there.

We are confidant that we were at the exact location. We had attempted to find it by helicopter in 2002 using our own "band of feasibility" for our Sci Fi Channel's, "The Roswell Crash: Startling New Evidence", but the geographic and structural markers that we were looking for were not apparent to us from the air. We were able to locate the tell-tale markers on the ground, however, with the help of topographic maps, professional archaeologists and the witness accounts. Tom Carey, Huntingdon Valley, PA.

North Carolina images

Alan Caviness continues to take images of UFOs near his home. On June 4, around 10 PM, EDT, a series of UFOs were taken of an unknown aerial object over a UFO-active area in central North Carolina. This locality is frequently monitored by a field team of independent UFO investigators. In most cases, the UFOs are invisible to the human eye. Their is a backlog of many hundreds of photographs and is analyzing them carefully as time allows. Oklahoma saucer seen near mutilation

HOLLIS -- Jim Hickman executive director of Skywatch International writes, “You had a report on a cattle mutilation in Filer's Files #29 that is in the same location of a UFO Roundup report that had a UFO sighting on July 1, 2005. It may be significant that we can roughly place a UFO at the time and location of a cattle mutilation." Ohio mystery light may be Space Station

CLEVELAND -- NASA claims the mysterious red light seen in the Brookpark sky over the weekend may have been the Space Station that flew over on July 10, 2005. A witness claims while working at Cleveland Hopkins Airport we saw a red light in the sky, just above the Ford plant in Brookpark. The light hovered for about 45 minutes and was probably 2 to 3 thousand feet in the sky.

Editor's Note: The Space Station passes over in a couple minutes not 45 minutes.

Ohio flying triangle watched for two hours

PORTSMOUTH -- We were sitting outside on our patio at 10:30 PM, on July 2, 2005, when I noticed a flickering object moving in the sky coming in the direction of the house. It was just above tree-top level so if it had been an airplane one would have heard the sound. A few minutes later another object exactly like the first came through in exactly the same direction as though following an imaginary road in the sky. And then a few minutes later yet another object came through. It made "contact" with a moving "star."

The object flickered on finally in the same direction as the first two and then the "star" moved on in another direction. These same objects came back from the direction that they went and then disappeared. The moving "star" appeared again. It was triangular in shape with the point of the triangle being the front of the craft with flashing red, green, and white lights all around it. Since July 2, we have seen these same objects every night at about 10:30 PM.

FOSTORIA ­ On June 25, 2005, George Ritter captured this dark object on his RCA VHS video camera at 4:04 PM. George regularly takes video of UFOs above the farm next door. George writes, "The metal grain bin is 265 yards from where I usually shoot from and is measured by laser range finder." The object appears to be about 300 yards away and an estimated 30 feet across moving at over a 1000 mph.. Thanks to George Ritter.

UFO propulsion

LUBBOCK ­ John E. Combest an electrical engineer writes, “George Ritter has been taking great photos that are relatively close-up near a farm in Fostoria, Ohio.” I think that something can be learned about the general method of propulsion of those vehicles by studying all good quality photos - no matter whether or not the image seems to be blurred. I had the fortune while visiting Mackenzie State Park in Lubbock, Texas on May 18, 1975, to take two photos of a UFO which was in two different attitudes of flight - one in which the craft was about two miles away and angled toward the ground; while the second photo seems to show the craft in a high speed descent heading in the general direction of the camera.

I did not see the UFO at the time the photos were taken - 35 mm, ASA 64, shot at 1/125th second - but noticed the UFOs when viewing the slides many weeks later. That shutter speed of 1/125th second was fast enough to obtain stop-action on the first image, but the craft was apparently moving much faster in the second photo as it seemed - based upon the blurred area toward the rear and right side of the UFO - to move from the size of a speck to about 1/8th inch diameter while the shutter was open. That apparent physical change during 1/125th second seems to imply high speed motion of the object.

My studies so far have suggested that the blurred image often obtained when photographing a UFO is caused by diffusion of the light coming from the craft's surface, and that diffusion of light may well be caused by a very powerful, very high frequency magnetic field being generated by the UFO in flight. There are several videos which I have studied during which the UFO seems to move along through the sky in pulsed motion as the craft seems to alternately elongate while speeding up, and then to assume a more normal shape as it slows down. Those pulsation cycles are around one-second in duration. And in some cases the craft's field strength is so powerful that the craft can be seen only during the slow-down part of the motion cycle, but becomes invisible during the faster, elongated motion.

Argentina: commotion over UFO continues

CHACO -- One of the eyewitness accounts came from Sergio Acosta, who said that between 6:05 and 6:10 AM on July 15, as he was throwing out the trash, he noticed "a powerful light that lit up the sky." He informed LT-16 Radio Santa Esmeralda that he " looked upward and saw a something like a giant star, flying at high speed, at an altitude that did not exceed 1000 to 1500 meters in an east to west direction until it became lost in the horizon."

Apparently he was so alarmed by the strange object's flight pattern that some details were burned into his mind. "It lost a chunk of its luminous body in flight, and in its rear it had something like a "little tail" following it at a close distance, like a hot coal, as thought it was a jet engine or navigation light. But it was a very large object," Acosta remarked.

This was one of the most detailed accounts of the sighting. But there were at least 4 other witnesses who claimed having seen this light. "It turned night into day. WATER TANK MYSTERIOUSLY EMPTIED

LA PAMPA -- On July 1, 2005, seventy thousand liters of water vanished from a tank used to provide drinking water to animals in a farm located near the town of Parera. Adolfo Ziegenfhus, the tank's owner stated, "On Friday evening [the tank] was full and in the morning it was completely empty, seventy thousand liters vanished from dusk to dawn without a trace and without any signs that could account for the loss of the water. Ziegenfhus, witnessed the discovery of mutilated animals on his field in recent years.

INEXPLICATA readers will recall the disappearance of water from storage tanks and swimming pools in Argentina's La Pampa province during the summer of 2002. No proof of leaks or seepage was ever found in those cases. Translation (c) 2005, Scott Corrales, IHU

Australia unusual lights above airport

MOUNT GAMBIER -- Whilst driving south past the airport ten kilometers north of Mount Gambier at 8:45 PM, on June 30, 2005, in South Australia, I saw three white lights at 30 degrees elevation. At first, I thought it was a plane about to land. As it lined up on an approach it had three white lights in a line, but no navigation lights. The airport landing lights were off, but they should be switched on by the pilot when landing. There was no noise and after a few seconds I realized after alighting from my car that the lights were stationary in the sky. I could not see any shape at all. I continued on after about a minute and while entering the city saw an orange glow at about 45 degrees elevation traverse northeast towards the airport about 10 km away. It moved quite slowly in a straight line without navigation lights or sound. It had a haze around it and was not man made.

Canada sightings increase

Niagara Falls -- On July 11, 2005 at 12 PM, a black teardrop shaped aircraft floated high in the sky. It was weaving in and out and was traveling very fast. I was sitting in my front yard when I looked up and saw a black colored object. I studied it closer, at first I thought it was a kite or balloon. When I later looked it was on the other side of the sky. I decided its shape wasn't anything like a balloon, it seemed to be much larger. I thought this was too weird and I grabbed my camera and took pictures. Then, suddenly it started moving sharply and it started to seem like it was weaving in and out of pylons. I watched it until it finally was out of sight.

SCARBOROGH --Paul writes, “Since March of 2003, I have had my fair share of sightings along with many other witnesses, but this has gone even further with strange occurrences such as seeing a flying creature.” As one takes a breath during this very high activity, one must truly find out everything including about one's self. I have been circling around all local ufologists in the field, Canada's MUFON and their reaction is that they "never" heard of a case like mine and not much they can do to help. I have even pleaded with witnesses to phone MUFON with their sightings.

As for the reflection of awareness of being taken at age four. I found an Aug.1965 article in the Toronto Star Newspaper Archives, that there were sightings over Scarborough. Half way down the article it states, "UFO's were seen in recent weeks over Scarborough." Obviously, there has been on-going activity for years. I was totally blown away because there was a blackout the following day at 4:11 PM. This gives one confirmation of "fact" that I was not having nightmares back in 1963.

Funny, how I still work there, the drive really sucks. Back in Oct.18, 1999, I was rear ended with my foot on the brake in traffic on the Highway 401. He hit me at 120 km and the trunk was pushed up to the back seats but I walked away without a scratch. The person who hit me, was Eric "Butcher"? I have escaped death nine times. He seemed quite calm about it, not to mention the police took one and a half hours to arrive at the scene on a major highway.

These are confirmation that in "fact" I was not having nightmares in 1963. The Eastern Seaboard had a blackout in November of 1965. Many countries around the world experienced major blackouts in 2003 that were blamed on tree branches that needed pruning? Meanwhile there were many sightings. I have been researching since 2003, to find the commonalities. There is way too much for me to write everything of what I have seen and learned along the way. I do believe this may be about DNA and light energy. I feel shortly that there will be contact since you can't dismiss the increased signs. I am a human, and have great compassion for all life. Today I sit, while our species destroys our home of mother earth. "Who" or "what" is controlling our planet? So my answer to your question is "yes" George and you may print this as well. EDMONTON, ALBERTA -- On July 12, 200, at just after 2:AM, in the morning I went outside, because I couldn't sleep. I stood in the back alley looking at the stars as it was a very clear night, with just a couple of clouds visible. I stood there not 5 minutes when what I thought was a satellite moving north at about 90 degrees directly overhead, stopped dead in it's tracks and lit up to an enormous bright light that appeared to me to be pulsating. It lasted only about 5 seconds, then started to diminish until it was the same spec in the sky as before and continued on its path. I am an amateur astronomer and skywatch as often as the weather permits, and know that this was way too high to be a helicopter which is often seen around my area. For this thing to go from a pin point of light to about the size of the tip of my index finger in brightness is very strange to me, as I'm sure it must have been very high in altitude. If there is an explanation, I would love to hear it, because it has me at a loss. The color was bright white, and no noise was heard. Denmark light seen for ten minutes

COPENHAGEN --I work late hours and had just returned home. It had been a hot day, so I went out on my balcony to water the plants at 1:15 AM, on June 30, 2005, when I saw an orange light coming from the southeast shining so bright, that it looked like a star you put on the top of a Christmas tree. The object was 25 meters (75-80 feet) above. It flew slowly right above the middle of the street without sound and making the darkened roofs glow in the light. After a kilometer or so it turned westwards. I was so busy watching it, that I hadn’t noticed the other one, until it was right above my head. The second one was looking the same and took the exact course of the first one. They were 1200 meters apart flying at 8 mph. CUAUTLA -- Mr. Luis Roca Cerezo was driving along the highway toward Mexico City in the company of his father on May 7, 2005, when he became aware of a strange light in the sky that had movement. Fortunately, he had with him a camera that allowed him to record the unusual event. Numerous sightings of plasma-type vessels have been recorded in the State of Morelos, mainly over the cities of Cuernavaca, Cuautla and Tepoztlán that border the volcano zone, a probable factor for UFO incidents. MEXICO CITY -- The Journal of Hispanic Ufology reports Photos taken on July 15 and 16, 2005 by Prof. Ana Luisa Cid show strange luminous objects hovering near power lines and invisible to the human eye.
