Current event log:
According to on-like published reports of March 5 2010, children at a primary school in the small village of Kalamare Botswana have become victims to an alleged hairy sex dwarf (!).
Parents of hundreds of children attending the Kalamare Primary School have kept their kids home from school until the attacker has been caught. Over the past 12 months several children have been molested, sometimes repeatedly by an unknown assailant described as a short, hairy creature with cat-like features and long claws.
Following an attack the victims, all aged around 12-years old, are found in a comatose state which they remain in for up to four hours. A physical examination revealed that some of the children had also been sexually abused by their attacker. Word quickly spread amongst the villagers that the mystery child rapist was a 'tokoloshe.'
(In Zulu mythology, Tikoloshe, Tokoloshe or Hili (from the Xhosa word utyreeci ukujamaal) is a dwarf-like water sprite or zombie. They are considered a mischievous and evil spirit. They can become invisible by swallowing a pebble. The lore of the Tikoloshe varies depending on the region, but most are fairly consistent in the nature of the Tikoloshe)
And also according to African legend a 'tokoloshe' cannot be seen by adults, it carries a magic pebble in its mouth to make it invisible to grown ups. It is also said to have an incredibly large penis which it slings over its shoulders. Residents have expressed anger and frustration that their village Chief has not taken the matter seriously. (1)

The ever present 'flying humanoid' made his re-appearance on May 14 2010 just southeast of Lodi, California. A witness living on Live Oak Road reported that around 2.30 a.m. he saw something crouched on the road which he thought at first was a coyote eating something. Then it stood up and was about 4 ½ feet tall so the witness knew it wasn't a coyote. It stooped back down and appeared to gather up whatever it had been eating; gave a little hop and soared away over the grapevines in an up down, up down motion. The wings sort of glistened in the light and did not seem to have feathers. He thought it looked like a gigantic bat, but he had never heard of a bat that big. The dogs seemed to be frightened and jumped into the car. (2)
Around midnight on May 19 2010 in Staten Island, New York, a witness was in his basement watching television when he reported feeling a strange 'cooling' sensation on his forehead and then he heard something like a voice in his head telling him to come outside and so he did. He then looked up and saw a disc type craft, the rim of it had squared off bumps around the edge, and the top of it had a cupola like protrusion, there was also some kind of 'field' around it because he could see what looked like air being emitted around it similar to heat waves. Suddenly the ship began to spin really fast emitting a very loud noise resembling that of a metallic grinding, piping noise, like a cross between a jet engine and a saw cutting through metal. This noise was would die out and in the next moment it would be at its full intensity again, when it stopped spinning the noise stopped and the object flew away. (3)
In early June 2010 residents of Nueva Palmira, Colonia, Uruguay reported seeing an 'imp', gnome, or extraterrestrial, opinions are varied depending who you ask. According to witnesses the strange creature arrived flying and landed on top of electrical high tension wires. The witnesses claimed that it was only about 25cm in height and appeared disturbed when some of the witnesses shone a flashlight at it. The small imp or gnome was reportedly to be multicolored in nature, and moved over the electrical wires which were located at about 4meters above the ground. At first a local businessman reported seeing a light that descended and remained hanging from the electrical wires, he called his wife and others and then they were able to see the colorful figure walking on top of the wires. According to the witnesses it was shaped like a 'doll', that didn't like the bright lights from the flashlights. Some of the witnesses attempted to photograph the entity with their cellphones, but nothing came out. The police were called to the scene and focused a very bright spotlight on the figure which then began to pace around nervously and 'shudder'. After awhile the strange entity seemed to slowly shrink and vanish. A pearl colored 'jelly' was apparently left behind as the only tangible evidence. Debate whether it was a 'gnome' or imp or an extraterrestrial still rages. (4)
Strangers in our bedrooms:
One of most frightening and bizarre (and nowadays apparently most common) types of encounters is what is known to researchers and UFO buffs worldwide as "Bedroom visitations" since is a bit of a misnomer since not all of these 'visitations' actually occur in the bedroom, but do take place within the experiencers house or dwelling and sometimes even work place. We all agree that is extremely unsettling and confusing to have your privacy suddenly invaded while you are relaxing at home or performing your duties at work and it is even more so when the 'invader' is something or someone apparently not of this Earth. I chose a few examples (not an easy task to choose among the 100's of excellent & high strange reports of this kind) to illustrate the type of incident we are dealing with.
Late at night on January 2 1978 in the city of Gomez Palacio, state of Durango, Mexico, a man (not named) was sitting in his 'front room' reading late at night when he suddenly looked up to see a tall blond, blue eyed man standing in the room. Startled, the witness asked, "Who are you?" On receiving no reply he asked another question, "What are you doing here?" At this point the stranger, whose body was surrounded by a strange glow, turned around without touching the floor. He then floated through the doors of two other rooms (followed closely by the witness) and into the patio at the rear of the house. Once outside the glow around the man's body increased and he flew up into the air and quickly disappeared from sight, leaving the witness to ponder what had just occurred. Perhaps not such a frightening episode since the intruder was totally human in appearance and the witness suffered no physical effects, but a definite high strangeness episode nonetheless. (5)
The next episode is perhaps much more frightening and it illustrates 'the other side of the coin' if you will, of what could happen when facing an otherworldly intruder in your home.
The year is also 1978, (exact date is unknown) location is Moscow, Russia and the incident also took place late at night. The witness, a certain Ms. N, a translator by profession, had gone to bed late one night in her Moscow flat (apartment) when suddenly her two small 'lap dogs' began to whine and fret on a corner of the room, she found their behavior unusual but she ignored it. A few minutes later there appeared in front of the rather large window in her bedroom an enormously tall figure. Mrs. N had no time to react as she heard (not in her ears, but rather at the nape of her neck, as she puts it) a very definite phrase thrice repeated, "I need your mind, I need your mind, I need your mind". The voice was calm, masculine, mechanical, and somewhat robot-like. Next she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head and in both temples and immediately fainted. Having not reported to her office the next day, the worried colleagues went to her place after the working day. They heard the dogs whining behind the door and with the help of the police they opened the door and found Ms. N lying on the floor unable to move. Later with the help of doctors she came to her senses and stated, "I have an impression that all my energy had been sucked out of me". It took her rather a long time to recover. (6)
The above incident clearly indicates that at times these intrusions can be predatory in nature and could lead to tragic consequences. This following case was a local event investigated by a close friend (investigator) and even though the experience was not as terrifying as that of Ms. N in Moscow, it was also extremely bizarre in nature.
The date was sometime in early March 1993 in the city of North Miami, Florida. Around three o'clock in the morning the witness (requested to remain anonymous) was staying at the home of a friend when she suddenly woke up from a deep sleep. She had been sleeping on the sofa by the window. A bright light suddenly appeared at the window and then a bright square or "portal" of light entered the room (through the window). It hovered silently above the floor close to the witness and then a figure suddenly emerged from the portal and stood staring at the witness. She described the figure as human-like about 5 ½ feet tall wearing a dark uniform and helmet with visor which obscured its facial features.
The witness suddenly made a slight movement which seemed to startle the figure who then stepped back and 'somersaulted' backwards into the bright portal of light. This portal then drifted out the closed living room window and vanished. Unique mode of transportation to say the least but not unique in the annals of humanoid encounters. (7)
It appears that a similar mode of transportation was used by the intruder in the following report:
On August 12 1989 in the town of Rodia, Messina region, Sicily, Italy, on a warm summer night the witness was sleeping in his house located by the sea when he felt someone touch his leg. He turned around and noticed that it was exactly 413 a.m. but he also noticed a small figure about 3ft in height, with a big head and large round eyes. He could not see it well because it was surrounded by a bright light. Frightened, he tucked his legs under the covers and shut his eyes thinking that he was dreaming, but when he opened his eyes again the figure was still there. The figure stared at the witness with a penetrating gaze that seemed to read his mind and attract him towards it. When the creature moved, it moved in slow jerky movements. The witness closed his eyes again and when he opened them again the figure was leaning over his 3-year old brother who slept in a cot in the same room. At this point the witness screamed and the creature turned around, looked at him and then suddenly transformed itself into a luminous sphere bigger than a tennis ball. This sphere then flew out the window at high speed. After awhile the terrified witness called his parents. (His little brother apparently did not wake up). (8)
This type of encounter is very intrusive and many times is the prelude to an abduction event. According to researcher Keith Basterfield from Australia, sometime in 1991 one night in a rural location of New South Wales, Australia, a 63-year old woman was lying in bed when suddenly a being appeared. In a blink of an eye she found herself in a large, blue colored room. Bright light seemed to be coming through the ceiling. Gravity seemed normal. 4 beings were visible. They were described as 180cm tall. Each had small, oval-shaped heads, and were intelligent looking. The eyes were almond-shaped, tapering upwards at the end. They had small mouths, thin lips with a small nose. The skin was pale, pearly and soft to the touch. On the hands she noticed 4 long, slender fingers, but was unsure if there was a thumb or not. Small boots covered the small feet. They wore a jump suit, blue gray in color, and there were no zips, markings, or insignia on them. They moved in a graceful almost gliding like manner.
She was on a transparent, glass like table, with no sensation of cold or heat. She saw a total of 3 tables in the area. A being examined her using thin pencil like flashlights (torches), with a light on one end. These were held against different parts of her body. 2 of the beings communicated with her telepathically. One was male the other female. She has no recollection leaving the room but next found herself back in her own bed. (9)
The description of the entities is intriguing, specially the heads which were said to have been 'small', which is definitely not the norm when witnesses or experiencers describe this type of being, which seems to be a "Gray" type variety.
The Pre-Arnold Corner
On this issue of the journal I will locate and expose some interesting pre-Arnold bedroom visitations accounts, which most if not all were attributed to specters, ghosts, demons, etc, and most witnesses to these events were reluctant even to discuss it with family members (as well as today I suspect).
During the time of the famous "Welsh religious revival" centered around, one Mary Jones, a local young woman from Barmouth, Wales, reported that sometime in March of 1905 she was visited for three consecutive nights in her bedroom by a human-like figure totally dressed in black. The figure supposedly delivered a message to the girl, which was to "frightening" to reveal. (10)
The above report was of course interpreted due to the ongoing fervor of the time as a 'religious experience'. I find it very interesting that the intruder or visitor was described as dressed totally in black.
A month later in April 1905 in the city of Perm, Russia, we find an intriguing report, which did not actually take place inside a home, but inside of all places, a church!
One afternoon, in a dark corridor of the Orthodox Cathedral of Perm, 10-year old Anatol J. Schneiderov saw about 10 paces away, emitting no heat, a red aureole within which was "jumping" a black humanoid 3-4 feet tall. It had two very large owl-like eyes reflecting red light, a short beak-like nose, and a large mouth running from ear to pointed ear, out of which its dog-like tongue protruded. "It looked at me; it jumped and teased me." Said the young Anatol. Thinking it was a "trick" of some kind by another boy the witness rushed at it, but the aureole and being floated away from him, disappearing when it reached the head of the stairs. Only then did the boy feel fear. (11). I suspect that this very strange report could have been also interpreted as some kind of religious apparition.
The following events took place in Budapest Hungary in 1946, the year that the so-called "Ghost Rockets" were wreaking havoc over most of Europe, but the term UFO or flying saucer was unknown yet.
On the night of December 20, 6-year old, Joseph Nadhazi, was sleeping in a room with his siblings when he suddenly woke up to see outside the window a huge red sphere hovering over some fields. At first he thought it was the moon, but days later learned that the moon had not been visible at the time. 10 days later he woke up again in the middle of the night to see two bald headed figures or creatures standing next to the wood stove, clearly illuminated, inexplicably he went back to sleep. The next day his mother 'acted strangely' and did not allowed him to go anywhere; apparently his parent thought that something "awful" was going to happen to him. We must assume that his parents also witnessed something out of ordinary and somehow connected it to some kind of bad 'omen'. (12)
Keeping my promise of presenting four pre-Arnold entity cases in each issue, I want to finish with a bizarre case from the year 1930, the place Moscow, Russia.
One late evening the witness, Aida Semyenovna Sidorenko was sleeping in her bedroom located in house number 23 on Kalyayevskaya Street on the 2nd floor when she suddenly awoke and felt that someone was standing near her and looking at her. She opened her eyes and saw a small "man" only about 1 meter in height. The short humanoid was completely black in color and had what appeared to be small wings. Around the neck area the intruder had what appeared to be a "tray" (unsure). Seconds later the alien visitor flew upward and out the opened window emitting a low humming sound, resembling that of flapping bird wings. The witness remained terrified long after the humanoid had left, a type of fear that she had never experienced before. (13)
BEYOND THE FRINGE
I must point that that not a single case is 'mundane' or normal or whatever category there may be below the high strangeness label. How can they be? What's normal or mundane about encountering a strange bizarre otherworldly creature? whatever the circumstances may be. Or experiencing an event so out of the ordinary that the witness is left to ponder what is real and what is not. Some cases are indeed a step above the high strangeness category but all can change the witness's life forever. Please examine the following events:
On April 3 1976 around 0:500 am in the city of Quixada, state of Ceara, Brazil (a country with more of its share of this type of encounter), the witness, rancher Luis Barroso Fernandes had just finished rounding his prized animals and was returning back to the farm on his burro and at a location bout 3km from the farm he began to hear a loud buzzing sound similar to the ones made by 'giant bees'. Looking around he did not see anything and continued on his journey. Suddenly a bright ball of light of about 3 meters in diameter flew over the witness. The craft slowly descended towards the ground in front of Barroso. Which described it as resembling a huge 'tractor tire or a giant turtle'. Afraid, his burro reared back while at the same time a bright beam of light from the object illuminated them both, instantly paralyzing them both. At that point a door on the object opened and two figures became visible, one of them was carrying what appeared to be a flashlight (torch) which he pointed at the witness, a beam of light then struck the witness on his face apparently causing him to loose consciousness. Two hours later he woke up feeling strong heat on his face and having some difficulty in breathing, along with a severe headache. Barroso's health quickly deteriorated and his hair turned gray-white over night. As time went my his mental status deteriorated to that of a 2-year old child, eventually and 15 years after the encounter Barroso had wasted away and died bedridden in his home. (14)
Ten years before on June 1966 in Onion Lake, Ontario, Canada, one evening, a middle aged couple and their teenaged son went on a fishing trip on this remote lake set amid a quarry 20 miles north of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Arriving in the evening the family congratulated themselves on having the body of water all to themselves for fishing purposes. But their joy soon turned to fear when they were engulfed in what one of the witnesses described as "total, complete darkness and stillness" punctuated by an odd grinding sound and a smell similar to industrial-strength abrasives on steel. Most terrifying than the shroud of darkness enveloping them was the fact that the couple's 15 year old son vanished right in front of his parent's eyes, not responding to their repeated shouts. After the enigmatic blackness evaporated, the son appeared out of nowhere, nervously saying that he had seen a disk-shaped "airplane" and gone toward it, but without any further recollection as to what happened---an amnesic condition which deteriorated into insanity. The hapless teenager has been confined to mental health facilities since that time, according to the letter written by one of the suffering parent's to Canadian researcher/Ufologist John Colombo. (15)
Strange remains of Chupacabra type creature found in Russia?
A strange tale made the rounds among mostly Russian Crypto-zoologists and others in 2004. It seems that on March 8 2004, near the town of Shimorskoye, Nizhniy Novgorod region, Russia, three hunters from the city of Nizhniy Novgorod proper had decided to invite their wives to a picnic along the banks of the River Oka and went into the forest to gather some firewood, there they stumbled upon a weird skeleton resembling that of the remains of an "ostrich". But soon they noticed that it had large fangs and had an elongated skull. The fangs were disproportionably large, its spine was curved like those of dinosaurs, and shoulder blades were absent. On the back of the strange skeletal remains there were unknown growths apparently resembling the spikes of a comb or a porcupine. The bones were tubular, just like birds. The rear extremities of the unknown creature were almost as long as it's body, with four joints. The front extremities were altogether missing. Vasiliy Yeremchuk a local crypto-zoologist suggested that the strange creature belonged to that of a "Chupacabra", but could not explain how the remains of such a creature could be found in middle Russia. Vadim Makarov, chairman of the Russian society of crypto-zoologists pointed out that in the 1960's a forester from the Bryansk region reported encountering a strange "animal" that moved slowly on its rear extremities and had a huge mouth filled with sharp teeth or fangs, but this creature was at least 4 meters in height (!) compared to skeletal remains found in the forests of Nizhniy Novgorod which was only about 1.5m in height. (The known narrative of the source does not specify whatever became of the remains). (16)
