Friends of mine have just reported the following sighting, that I thought I would pass on to you.
This was the e-mail I received from them and the answers to my questions:

It was the unusual light colour and configuration that drew our attention to the phenomena. The apparent lack of position light strobes red or green as common to most aircraft drew our curiosity which of course, due to travel was restricted to observation from the car. No chance of stopping as it was still within peak travel time.

Questions:
Sunday Evening 21.5.01

Where was you when you saw it: WAS IN CAR. SOUT EAST FREEWAY. SAW IT EARLY EVENING.

The position you was traveling. TOWARDS BNE.CITY. APPROX 1.5 KM FROM GATEWAY ARTERIAL TURN OFF.

Time and date. BETWEEN 17.50 AND 18.00 HOURS. 21.05.01

Weather conditions. OVERCAST

The position in the sky you saw the UFO? (east, west,south or north). MY GUESS NORTH TO NORTH EAST

How big was it, (compared to the moon, or a star) AS MOON SIZE VARIES THE BEST COMPARISON WOULD BE ABOUT THE SIZE OF A 15" Monitor at about 5 meter Distance.

What colour was it. LIKE A ORDINARY LIGHT BULB. YELLOWISCH.THESE WERE SEVERAL LIGHTS. ABOUT 6. GIVING IMPRESSION OF AN UPPER DOME.

Was it moving? WHEN FIRST SIGHTED IT APPEARED STILL.AS THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE I CONCENTRATE ON TRAFFIC.PASSENGER OBSERVED AN ALMOST IMMEDIATE DISAPPEARANCE OF LIGHTS.

Was there any noise, DON'T KNOW. WAS IN CAR.

How long did you see it for? ABOUT 45 SECS. TO 1 MINUTE

Description of the sighting: INITIALLY THE LIGHTS APPEARED LIKE THE 'WHITMANS BLIMP 'ALSO THE COLOUR.

Any further comments :PASSENGER AND MYSELF DID NOT SEE ANY OTHER COULOURED LIGHTS (POSITION LIGHT) AS ARE NORMAL WITH AIRCRAFT
