Investigator: Attila
D lives in a 3rd floor apartment near the city. His apartment window
displays a wonderful view towards the city skyline, looking south. This
particular evening D and his wife were watching television (approximately 4
meters from the window) when suddenly he noticed a very bright and large
ball of light shoot across the sky. D described the anomaly as a white,
bluish ball of light traveling at considerable speeds. It was approximately
10 degrees above the Sydney skyline, traveling from the east to west
towards the Harbor Bridge on a horizontal path. He said, "It was too low,
too bright and too fast to be a plane or a helicopter. It moved so fast
that it seemed to leave a trail. And it was large, like the size of a 50
cent coin at arms length." Apparently the skylights in the apartment were
open. Therefore he would have heard any noise associated with the unknown.
But there was none at all. Also there was no other air traffic in the area
during the sighting. D then added, "Around ten minutes later a helicopter
went by. But nothing before hand for around ten minutes."
D lives in an area where he sees substantial amounts of air traffic. But
nothing like this! I asked him if there were any electrical disturbance in
the apartment during the sighting. None were noted.
D met up with some colleagues the following day and told them about his
experience. One of his colleagues broke out laughing with excitement and
informed his that he too saw exactly the same thing at the same time. They
couldn't believe the coincidence.
The other witness lives on the other side of the harbor, so the anomaly
from his perspective was to the north.
So was it a meteorite with a certain elementary composition that gave this
bluish tinge, or was it something else? A fireball of this apparent size
would have caused serious havoc. I think the next step is to get hold of
some major Sydney papers for some possible information.
Regards
Attila
