Report:

Stefan was driving along the M5 Freeway, five kilometres beyond the Toll, when he noticed 15 bright orange lights in the sky which were slightly flickering. He stated they were heading North-East towards the City. He said they looked like a swam of bees, slow moving and only moved from left to right occasionally but still accending, but always heading in the same direction. Stefan thought they were at an altitude of around 1500 feet. He noticed alot of cars were pulling up at the side of the road, 30 or more, getting out of their cars and looking up at the orange lights, he decided to pullover as well. It was a clear night, partial moon, cloud building but not in the direction of the orange lights. He stated he saw a helicopter very close to the orange lights, but their flying pattern was unaffected. When he lost sight of them they were at least 80 degrees above the horizon, moving further away until they were hardly noticeable.

Note: I find the Helicopter the most interesting point, but distance is hard to judge, especially at night. Was the helicopter really close to the orange lights?

Karen Burden
