UFO Sighting Report - Australia

With the increasing use of digital cameras we are seeing more photos showing alleged 'UFOs' - many of these could be insects, cloud shapes etc. As many readers have asked to see the photos I will be using some of them and leaving it up to the individual to make up their own mind - John @ UFOINFO.

UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Alexandria, NSW, Australia

Date: 10/01/06 (1st October) 7:10 pm local Australian Eastern Standard Time

Approach Direction: north

Departure Direction: west

Witness Direction: west

Description: I was at my office on my mobile phone and noticed that an aluminium smoke stack was reflecting orange light (like a fire from across the street). I looked in the opposite direction (west) and saw an object that at first looked like a plane on fire (I am a few km from airport and the object was as large as a plane is on its landing approach), heading on a 45 degree angle slope. It was bright enough to cause the reflection in the stack. The object continued its descent and then appeared to slow down and extinguish itself still above the skyline. About 3 seconds later it glowed back to the fire ball appearance, but this time it appeared to move away from me, heading directly west. The orange glow shifted white and smaller until it looked like a star, then swiftly faded out completely.

Air traffic from the airport continued unhindered from the event.

There was no indication of any breakaway debris, the object appeared to remain solid.

The event lasted about 40-50 seconds.

Color/Shape: Glowing orange, slightly oval. It appeared like it was on fire, as I could see slight hue shifts and fire licks.

Height & Speed: Object moved slower than a plane. 35 - 40 degrees looking above horizon

TV/Radio/Press: no
