UFO Sighting Report - Australia

Please note that the reports in this section have been submitted to UFOINFO/UFO ROUNDUP and accepted in good faith. No investigation has been carried out by UFOINFO.

With the increasing use of digital cameras we are seeing more photos showing alleged 'UFOs' - many of these could be insects, cloud shapes etc. As many readers have asked to see the photos I will be using some of them and leaving it up to the individual to make up their own mind - John @ UFOINFO.

UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Lower Blue Mts, Sydney

Date: 10/1/06 Time was between 7 and 7.30 pm local time.

Approach Direction: southeast

Departure Direction: west

Witness Direction: southeast

Description: My husband and I were driving down the lower reaches of Bell's line of road when we suddenly noticed a hugely bright orange 'flame' in the sky to the south-east which, because we were moving, appeared to be stationary. We pulled over and noticed it appeared to be coming towards us, ie it seemed to get even larger. It then disappeared behind tall trees obscuring our view, though we could see an orange glow thru the dense bush. We moved to a clearer spot, but it seemed to have disappeared, only to 'switch back on' for a few seconds, before quickly fading to a white light the size of a bright star. The sighting occurred around the time of the start of the NRL grand final, which we were listening to on the radio.

Color/Shape: Extremely bright orange colour. Shape was round, slightly fluctuating around the circumference. No sign of any debris falling from object. The area of sky lit up around the object was perfectly circular. The light INCLUDING the area of sky lit up around it, would have been as large as, if not larger, than a rising full moon. It was without doubt the brightest thing either of us has ever seen in the sky.

Height & Speed: All I know is we were 3/4 of the way down Bell's line of road, and it was higher than us (though not hugely higher). Hard to estimate speed when it was coming towards us especially at first it appeared to be just 'hanging' in the sky.
