Occupation: University Student

Observation: Driving south down Monaro highway in canberra about quarter to 11 on the way home from work, when in the sky above my car I saw a large white diamond of light zoom past at high speed. much too fast to be a jet and no noise at all. very intense white light the shape of a kite with rounded corners, and softer light at the edges. flying about cloud height. light up nearby clouds.

Description: Very bright white kite-shaped light traveling at high speed at cloud height. lit up nearby clouds, rounded corners, light weaker at edges. no noise.

Location: Monaro highway adjacent to the suburb Chisholm

Apparent Size: Dinner Plate

Actual Size: hard to tell it was moving so fast, probably about the size of a plane.

Altitude: cloud height.

Object Origin: went from north-south roughly

Object Destination: south. light just faded or disappeared behind cloud.

Planets Visible: stars were visible when not obscured by cloud

Weather Visibility: Clear, Cold, Cloudy, Calm, frosty night.
