Sighting Duration: 2 minutes
Occupation: Retired Police Officer

Observation: Sitting on balcony first floor facing east. Dark, clear no stars visible. - Observed a apparently reflected light about three times the size of an average star at a height of about 50 degrees. Noticed it was moving from south west to north east apparently losing height and when it was about 20 degrees height it disappeared. I got the impression the object was in space and when it hit the earths shadow it disappeared. It was well out to sea. My wife S also observed the object. Satellite? Space junk? it was pretty big. A few min stars began to appear. Tomakin is a few klms south of Batemans Bay

Moon Size Comparison: Much smaller

Planets Visible: No

Weather Visibility: Clear, Mild, Breezy

Comment: I have spoken with John and will post the 1953 sighting ASAP

Other Experiences: Observed "flying saucer" at Katoomba in about 1953
