Weather Conditions: Very few Clouds Clear Sky Half Moon

Description: My dad called me out as he was having a smoke outside. We usually star gaze here in northern Perth and usually see things that I presume are satellites. As we have two airbases near us one RAAF Pearce airbase towards the east and the other RAAF Gingin airbase North East. We sometimes see jets fly over as well. They usually pass during the day very high and when we do spot them we can see how fast they are going.

When I stepped outside directly above us very high up was a very bright white star looking object that was moving north easterly VERY fast. Compared to the jets we see during the day this thing was moving at least 2 - 3 times faster. Dad said it had come from the west and had accelerated before he called me and now was moving towards the position of the moon in the sky. We followed it and it went past the position of the moon kept accelerating away and then we lost sight of it, it kept heading in a north easterly direction towards RAAF Gingin airbase.

Amazing sight.
