Description: I was picked up my son from his friends house and while driving home,said to him, what the hell is that? In the distance in the Frankston direction was a column of 12 to 15 orange lights stretching up from just above the horizon. We decided to try and drive closer to figure out what it was, the lights seemed to be just hovering for at least 5 to 10 minutes. Then they all of a sudden flew off in different directions up into the clouds. Two flew overhead before ascending into the clouds, they were a pulsating orange light and made no noise. My son and I were not sure what to make of it as they looked nothing like any plane I had seen.
