AUFORN Sighting Form Report
26.06.10 LANGWARRIN (VIC) 21:50hrs
Source: AUFORN ONLINE UFO Report Form
Witness: Mrs. Carolyn B
Number of witnesses present: 2
Sighting Duration: 5 minutes.
Occupation: Home duties.
Observation: At approximately 9.50pm our dog started barking aggressively whilst outside. He then placed himself very hard against our glass sliding door, wanting to come in urgently. As well, our cat was acting strangely, jumping around scared and then hiding. I went outside to investigate and noticed a bright red light in the sky, a bit larger than a star. It was flashing slightly to a lighter colour, but was mainly red. At first I thought it was an airplane but it seemed to be travelling too slow. It also made no noise at all. I kept watching for a minute or so when suddenly it 'dropped' smaller lights from directly beneath the larger light. These smaller lights seemed to disappear quite quickly. It repeated this about four times over the next three minutes. It was travelling north and eventually disappeared behind clouds. It definitely looked unusual and I have seen on Facebook tonight that others also saw it.
Description: The main light didn't change shaped at all .. It looked like a large star. It dropped the smaller lights at regular intervals, perhaps every 30 seconds or so. It made no sound at all.
Location: I was at home, at the back door looking north. Langwarrin, Victoria, Australia.
Other Witnesses: I was the only one from my family who witnessed this, but have heard that friends of my daughter also did.
Apparent Size: Star.
Actual Size: It appeared to be a bit larger than a star.
Altitude: As high as an airplane would fly ... Cloud height.
Object Origin: It was high in the sky when I first witnessed it, travelling north.
Object Destination: Towards the north, our city... It seemed to disappear behind clouds.
Moon Visible: Yes, the moon was visible. Apparently there is a lunar eclipse tonight. The moon was quite bright.
Moon Size Comparison: Small compared to the moon, as I've said it appeared a bit larger than a star.
Planets Visible: I could see a few other stars.
Weather Temp: Cold, Cloudy, Calm.
Weather Comments: It was mainly clear, a bit cloudy. It rained shortly after this.
Viewing Aids: No only viewed with my eyes.
