AUFORN Sighting Form Report
Received 28/12/2007 03:57:23
1989 MERRIMAC, GOLD COAST (QLD) 2200hrs (NL)
Source: AUFORN ONLINE UFO Report Form
Witness: Mr. Steve x
Number of witnesses present: 1
Sighting Duration: 2 hours
Observation: I came home from work by bicycle from Mudgeeraba to my then home in Merrimac. I got home and parked my bike. I fought I walked into a spiders web and looked up. then thats when I saw about 4 to 6 Bright orange lights. more like pale lights, height about 1 klm but seem lower. First thought it was the local Hot air Balloon people doing night flying. But with no nav lights, they wouldn't be allowed. Plus there was no noise of the burners.
Description: I watched the objects for a while , my parents were home and came out and saw the objects too plus some of the neighbours. We watched as the Objects about five move slowly across the sky. I had a pair of binoculars, and used them to see closer. At the height they were at I fought I could see better. An hour had passed by then and lights were no longer together. Some moved away fast in another direction, soon to disappear. Feet were very sore by this time, so we concluded at we had seen our very first UFO . Next day there were new reports about others sightings of the Orange light all over Gold Coast.
Location: It was along Highfield Drive, Merrimac. Right next to Highway. At time there were not many houses in the area. No brights from Sporting venues. Only noise of trucks going pass every now and then.
Other Witnesses: My parents. But they don't want to be bothered by this sort of stuff now. But its always sticks in my mind when I get in a conversation about Ufos. But not an alien Nutter.
Apparent Size: Dinner Plate
Apparent Size Other: -
Actual Size: I think they would have had a diameter of 20m maybe. I sometimes have
wondered what they would have been. Came up with these possibilities:
1. Five Rockets, orange glow is the thrusters.
2. Balloons with glow sticks tied to bottom.
Altitude: Like I said about 1 klm high or could have been 10 stories height.
Object Origin: North east from the Ocean.
Object Destination: South west for three of them, other two went straight up.
Moon Visible: It was pretty dark, don't remember if there was a moon that night.
Planets Visible: a few stars.
Weather Visibility: Foggy, Sunny
Weather Comments: There wasn't any wind that night. it was cool. and Light fog.
