Sighting Duration: 5 - 10 minutes
Occupation: Student
Observation: I was walking home (dad's place) with my sister and my best friend from being at a park earlier that night. There was no moon in the sky so it was very dark and there were random patches of clouds . We had been discussing and observing how nice it was that there were so many stars present in the sky, because there were lots more than usual.
We were about 4 houses away from home when my sister and I notice some really bright light moving across the sky very slowly. At first we thought it was a plane, but it was it wasn't the colour of any star we had ever seen. We could see the contrast between the surrounding white stars and this orange 'thing'. Then more and more of these lights just twinkled, emerged and appeared. It was a very amazing experience and for most of it we were just either staring in awe or asking each if it was real. We stupidly didn't think to look at the time when it was actually happening so the time of my sighting is more so an estimate that accurate. I calculated this from noticing the time a little while after the experience.
They were two groups of UFO's next to each other. The group in front was in the formation of a perfect triangle (three) and the following group was an arrow (about seven). As the two groups moved across the sky in a weird alignment we walked to and sat on our verandah where we could still see the UFO's.
We continued observing and had been talking to each other for a minute or so and when we looked back there was only one UFO left. we went back down to the street to get a better look of the last one there. As it moved across the sky, we all watched as it twinkled on and off disappearing and then reappearing like it was about to change direction and then it was gone.
We all spoke about it throughout the night an in the morning also. At first I thought I was just seeing things but as soon as my sister and friend saw exactly what I was seeing I was really freaked out. It was really special and amazing though.
Description: Yes. They were two groups of UFO's next to each other. The group in front was in the formation of a perfect triangle (three) and the following group was an arrow (about seven). There was One that was on its own at the end but Im not sure if it was the remainder of the arrow or not. They were bright orange and about twice the size of a normal star.
Actual Size: well because they were twice the size of a star, I really don't have a single clue how big they could've been. They objects could've been any size.
Altitude: They were not as far as stars since they were a little larger in size and brightness but still far away enough to only be seen as orange lights.
Object Origin: The stars first appeared from the north side of the sky.
Object Destination: They were moving slowly towards the south before they disappeared.
Moon Visible: there was no moon.
Planets Visible: There was an amazing display of stars. lots of little clusters and a wide strip across the sky (north -south) where most of the stars/constellations were.
Weather Visibility: Clear, Hot, Cloudy, Breezy
Weather Comments: there were random areas of cloud and a slight breeze
Effects Psychological: I usually become teary when unusual things happen like very weird coincidences. As we observed and after they disappeared I felt like this. I felt like I really had to let someone know and really wanted to know if anyone else (other than the three of us) saw anything. but other than that we were fine.
Effects Other: About 3-4 hours earlier, we were at a park and repeatedly I saw really bright single lights coming from the north. I seriously thought it was an asteroid or something blazing toward the earth. As we spoke and forgot about it we saw planes around in the sky and my sister and friend said that, that was probably what I was seeing. I thought so too for a while until I saw didn't have any other flashing lights like on the wings of a plane. It was very peculiar but I just moved it to the back of my mind because I thought it was crazy to think there was a 'UFO' travelling across the sky and no one else would believe me anyway. I believe that they were most probably UFO's.

Witness: Mr. Kane
Number of witnesses present: 1
Sighting Duration: 1 minutes
Occupation: Student
Observation: It was approximately 02:20 am, I was kneeling down in the office trying to find something from the desk drawer and for a moment, I forgot what it was I was looking for. So, completely dumbfounded, I stood up and sat down at the desk, took a deep breath and looked out the window towards the street (south west)... I was at a loss. Then, something caught my eye. An amber light spiraling downwards to the right across the night sky like an emergency flare or even a tadpole fleeing from it's predator. I lost visual of the light as it passed.
The size of this "unidentified FALLING object" from where I was seated was the size of a tennis ball. This was more than likely a meteor etc. but worthy of a report.
Description: No sound, however, 5 maybe even 10 minutes later, I heard a bang in the distance. Probably not even related.
Apparent Size: Tennis Ball
Actual Size: Pardon my foul language, but fucking huge! I couldn't tell you the distance between the object and myself, but, if was about the size of a tennis ball, then yeah... Pretty darn big.
Altitude: From where I was seated, about the height of a tree out front 12 or so ft?
Object Origin: Top left.
Object Destination: Bottom right.
Moon Visible: Not from where I was seated.
Planets Visible: No... All I could see besides the object before it passed, was a street light one street over and my desk lamp. Even if there were stars, the office window has lace curtains, you can see jack-all through them specially with the lamp on. So this is a great indication of how bright the object was.
Weather Temp: Warm
Effects Psychological: Yeah, I felt startled and somewhat concerned. I raced for the front door to see if I could witness it again, but no luck.

Witness: Mr. Andrew & wife
Number of witnesses present: 2
Sighting Duration: 3 minutes
Occupation: Environmental Consultant
Observation: Observed a high altitude flickering orange light (similar to a fireball) traveling at constant speed from north to south, inland from the coast, in the direction of Sydney. The object was visible for approximately 3 minutes, however, I had only noticed it when it was mid-way across the sky. It was also observed by my spouse. The object was very similar to several objects that myself and others have sighted in approximately 1993/1994.
Description: The orange light flickered without a regular rhythm and at times was barely visible before flaring again. I have observed many 'shooting stars' and satellites, however, the colour and pace of movement was not similar
Apparent Size: Pea-Sized
Altitude: Approximately 3000-5000 metres
Object Origin: Inland from the coast, travelling in a southerly direction toward Sydney.
Object Destination: Southern sky, obscured by trees.
Moon Visible: Yes, visible in the northern sky, quarter moon.
Moon Size Comparison: eighth size of full moon
Planets Visible: Clear skies.
Weather Visibility: Clear, Warm, Breezy
Weather Comments: North-westerly breeze
Other Experiences: Similar sightings in 1993/1994.

Witness: Mr. Dave
Number of witnesses present: 10
Sighting Duration: Approx 4 minutes
Occupation: Electrician
Observation: A group of about 10 people including myself witnesses and extremely bright star-like object flying low in the sky at a speed you would have expected to see a helicopter flying at. I commented to a friend (ex navy) that there were no Nav lights or strobes on, and maybe it was the Police choppers with its spotlight on. After a few minutes, it passed almost directly overhead.
We then realised there was no sound at all, and still no nav lights. It continued south to north for another 30 seconds before turning orange, make a 90 degree turn to the east and within 3 seconds disappeared from view at great and instantaneous speed.
This was viewed by as I said about 10 people.
Description: The object resembled a searchlight from below and then changed to an orange orb for a better word. No sound at all.
Other Witnesses: These people would not wish to be identified. - Average age 40 Yr
Actual Size: As described above as if a helicopter was perhaps at 1500 feet.
Altitude: Impossible to know.
Object Origin: South to north. Sighting was approx 3 kms from east coast.
Object Destination: Due east over Bugewoi.
Moon Visible: Visible, west of sighting and fairly low if I remember correctly.
Moon Size Comparison: 20%
Planets Visible: Yes... clear skies.
Weather Visibility: Clear, Warm, Calm
Other Experiences: Once.1985. Near Wangaratta Vic, a light followed me while driving, and vanished. It lit up the boot of my car and woke my wife from a fairly deep sleep. Approx 3am. - Yes : I would be interested in talking.

Witness: Miss. Michelle
Number of witnesses present: 2
Sighting Duration: 1 minute
Occupation: OHSW Coordinator, Local Govt
Observation: My fiance and I were walking to the United Club at about 12:30am Friday night / Saturday morning. Moving lights in the sky caught my eye and at first glance it appeared to have been a meteor that had split into several pieces and travelling south at 'meteor' speed. I quickly pointed it out to Rick, my fiance, and we made a wish. The configuration of the lights did not change so we knew it couldn't be a meteor or meteorite. We continued watching it till it disappeared below the horizon.
Description: No sound, lighting configuration did not change, continually moved south.
Actual Size: Hard to tell. The 3 main lights of the object were large star sized, while the other 4 or so lights in the configuration were smaller star sized. If it was a size of a 747 it would have had to be a few hundred metres from the ground, but this was at flight level altitude. I think it was 1 huge object, but it may have been several objects travelling together - hard to tell at night.
Altitude: This was flying at plane flight level, lower that the 747's flying overseas but higher what small planes fly when doing scenic flights. I believe it was 1 big object as the area around and between these moving lights was black, I never saw any stars in the background behind it. So it could have been at scenic flight level.
Object Origin: I first saw it as it moved south, at about 70 degrees.
Object Destination: It continued south till it disappeared out of view near the horizon.
Moon Visible: Can't say I took enough notice to remember exactly. I'd assume the moon was out as it was a clear sky, no clouds, and it wasn't pitch black.
Moon Size Comparison: The 3 main lights were large star sized, the other lights were small star sized.
Planets Visible: It was a clear sky so all the stars were visible.
Weather Visibility: Clear, Mild, Calm
Other Experiences: My family & I have seen 'weird' things in Coober Pedy skies over the last 30 years, but this takes the cake.

Witness: Mr. Wayne
Number of witnesses present: 1
Sighting Duration: 3 - 5 minutes
Occupation: Transport Operator
Observation: While at a sydney look out called moon rise(view facing east) A friend and I went for a walk and were facing west when we noticed an object flying south to north. It's speed was aprox 150 - 180 kph, Cruising speed for something flying(I have spent time at air shows as a child). It was flying in a straight line at a height of a few hundred metres above us(not sure of elevation of look out).It was large ,Perhaps 2/3 the size of a 747 not including wing-span.It was completely silent. I could not take my eyes of it and it took about 30 seconds before I realised my friend was franticly calling my name telling me to look at it(which I was).It was not falling to the earth and was far too slow to be a meteor. It was flying from clear skys toward clouds and we had a really good view of it left to right of our feild of vision. It did not have a tail and seems to follow the road which was several hundred metres from us. I remember seeing a car on the road below it and the speed of that road was 70 or 80.I wondered if anyone else was watching this.We were with 3 other people who were in the car,but we did not go get them as I could not take my eyes of it.I know it was mechanical after what it did next.A small red sphere descended from beneath it(at first we thought it was breaking up) and it stopped while travelling at the same speed as larger object. It then did a full rotation of the larger object 3 times and its orbit got slightly larger with each pass.It moved anti-clockwise from the rear view. It was very systematic in its movement. Drop, stop, orbit, once, twice, final and moves off under it's own power. It then flew into dark clouds and we noticed a few flashes which could have been lightning. The main object was something very special and i've failed to see anything like it before or since.
Description: It was an very large orange ball of light with what looked like a bright green mist around it. I searched ball of light with green mist for years on the net and found nothing. I now know it is known as a green fire ball and many studys were done on them in the usa during the 50s and 60s. It was not a mist. It was more like a pulsing field and I can remember it reaching out in front of the object (a mist would become a tail) Such an odd thing to see flying so low over the western suburbs of sydney. It had no other lights on it as seen on most aircraft. Due to it's description I must stress that it was not a meteor. It must have been seen by others, but have found no similar reports in aus, Only USA.
Location: Moon-rise lookout of wallgrove rd rooty hill nsw.
Other Witnesses: Milan.
Apparent Size: Tennis Ball
Apparent Size Other: -
Actual Size: Slightly smaller than a tennis ball at arms length
Altitude: Not sure.Below 1km.above 500 metres.
Object Destination: north / nne
Moon Visible: Not sure.
Moon Size Comparison: I'd say smaller.
Planets Visible: Not sure abouts planets. Planets don't fly in our atmosphere :). Stars were out.
Weather Visibility: Clear, Cloudy
Weather Comments: clear skys south. Clouds to the north.
Viewing Aids: none. Naked eye.
Effects Physical: Shock and awe.
Effects Psychological: Not sure.
Unable to post in Other Unusual Effects So I'll post it here. Don't really want to mention this at all as you may think I'm crazy or something :) A few months later another friend and I were in a national park after hours and we were stalked by something large, possibly a yowie. It was not a man. I was very traumatised after this and suffered from mild shock.
A small cloud of white mist over a creek/large pond about 2 x 2 metres wide (mist) flew towards us and through us. We felt a chill down our spines and both commented on this at the same time. Told you...weird lol . Aliens..check . Big foot .. check.. boogie man.. check lol. I would never dare mention all 3 of these things to anyone other than close friends or family.
Effects Other Witnesses: I was with different people for the ufo/yowie The same person for yowie/mist.
More sightings to come
