About a week after the 2003 blackout my Mother nonchalantly told me during that evening she woke up because a bright light was shining through the window (remember, there was no power). She was sleeping downstairs in one of the guest rooms. The light was coming in through a bathroom window facing north. She went to the window and saw a large, as she described it "match box", glowing brilliantly (enough to light up the exterior of the house, the backyard and woods behind the house) and emanating rays of some kind. She described it as being very close, approximately the size of a Kleenex box held at arms length. It was moving toward the house when she saw it (making no noise).

She described a feeling as though it knew she was watching it. At that moment - it backed up quickly and hovered. The rays around the object changed to a blue, yellow and pink colour and the object glowed even more brilliantly. It then slowly drifted around to the front of the house. She then went back to bed!!! I asked her why she didn’t go around to the front. She explained that she didn’t know what it was and would simply tell someone about it the next day. She didn’t know what time this occurred. I know my Mom would not even consider making something like this up. I am attaching a Photoshop recreation of the sighting. The landscape at the bottom of the image is a direct photo looking out over her backyard where the object would have been.
