UFO SIGHTING REPORT
ROSEMOUNT MONTREAL QUEBEC
July 5th 2004
Original E-mail Report:
hello, On July 5,2004 at 8:50 p.m me and my wife had witnessed a tremendously bright red light at a standstill or moving realy slow at direction west. We always enjoy watching the planes and therefor were shocked to see this bright light which resembled almost as a large flame. The funny thing is that about 40 minutes prior to this sighting we were driving along parc avenue blvd and through st.laurents celebrating the 2004 euro cup. The streetswere all packed and some streets were even closed for this celebration.
The oddest thing about this sighting was that the object seemed to have vanished rather than flee. Im very sure other people have witnessed this sighting and in fact we overheard one of our neighbours stating that it must have been out of this world. I havent heard anything else of this yet.
Follow-up information from Brian Vike:
Rosemont is located north west of the city. The weather was cloudy and
overcast. My balcony is on the third story facing directly west.
Looking to
the horizon as I was strumming my guitar I noticed an object way to low and
bright to be an airplane. The Dorval Airport lies also west from my
direction, but I've always been able to distinguish any aerial object that
are common. This brilliant red light was much too low to be classified as an
airplane or helicopter.
The entire sighting lasted between 40 to 60 seconds
and then took an awkward plunge and vanished into itself. I could not
determine the shape of the object because it was very bright and the
brightness increased and became intense.
Rosemont is a domestic area with
main streets such as Jean Talon and Christopher Colombs.
There were no
aircraft activity during this event, besides there's no reason for aircraft
to be flying that low. I thought that it might resemble a flare. However
this explanation sounds ridiculous because a main event was occurring which
is Greece winning their first ever Euro Cup 2004. There were streets closed
and many police surveillance patrolling the street and traffic flow. Being
Greek myself I toured this part of the city just like thousands of others
raising the flag.
I had just arrived home between 8:30 to 8:50 p.m. and took
my guitar and then it all happened. My wife also witnessed her neighborhood
friend also speaking about the strange object and were concluding that it
looked like something alien. We overheard this statement minutes after the
sighting, but not yet have approached her with this because it feels
somewhat awkward.
This is the second time that I've witnessed this red light
sighting and they seem very common. The striking thing is that during the
last sighting in 1985, two of these similar objects came down in a zig zag
fashion and lit the entire area of town of Mount Royal which was witnessed
by people and reported in the Montreal Gazette.
Even more spookier was this
1985 incident occurred in the evening of the Greek Easter where thousands
march the streets with candles and light lots of fire crackers. Now let me
ask you a question. Do you suppose that this phenomena likely occurs during
important and major events and if it does, the question would be why and
what's the relationship?
