Shape of objects: silver tube or cigar shaped

Weather Conditions: Clear, sunny

Description: Driving on the east side, we saw what looked like an airplane on a downward trajectory. Both of us realizing the only airport was in the opposite direction, and the only thing in the direction the object was travelling was the Saint John River, I stopped the car and got out. Then it became evident the object was stationary hovering over a small mountain, and not making any noise. It then shot off into the distance several miles, and started tracking slowly across the horizon east to west. I went to a friend's house nearby and asked him to come take a look, he saw the object but it was by then moving straight away from us in a northerly direction, and only appeared as a white spot. He of course said that the other witness and myself were mistaken, but that is what I saw.
