Shape of objects: Circular?

This event took place in central Windsor, Ontario at approximately an hour after sunset. My girlfriend and I were sitting on our back patio having a smoke on a clear night with just a few wisps of clouds here and there. We were talking and kibitzing about our day at work when something caught my eye. It passed almost directly above our heads. I caught sight of it when it was almost over us. I am uncertain of the shape though I would estimate it to be circular. Shape was difficult to discern as it was passing just above a thin wisp of cloud. It made no noise whatsoever, and it seemed to be travelling at a speed comparable to a prop driven airplane. It was in my line of sight for approximately 20-30 seconds, and passed in a straight line from west to east. There was what appeared to be three off-white lights on the bottom of it. The three lights were triangular in orientation, and each individual light was basically the shape of a triangle with the top chopped off. Easiest way to describe it would be that it looked like an old turn table with the rubber mat taken off. The recesses in the turntable would be representative of the lights orientation and basic shape. The fact that it passed so low without any sound was what threw me the most. I should have marked the exact day, but I didn't. If I remember correctly it was mid summer of 2008. If I were to judge it's actual size, I would estimate its diameter to be about the size of an acre of land. No real discernable colours except black with constant white lights (nothing flashing).

Sorry for the delay in reporting it, but I just found your site today and read a bunch of sighting stories from Windsor and the surrounding area. None of the stories are really consistent with mine except for the three lights, but all other stories say that these lights were separate and in a straight line. The lights I saw were all together on what appeared to be one ship, and they didn't rotate or change orientation. Two lights were in the front of the object with one behind, the front being the direction of travel. Needless to say it was one of those freaky things you see that makes your eyes water. Since then I spend a lot more time gazing at the sky. Thank you for your time, and I will be on your site regularly from here on out.
