Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Round chrome ball, then reflecting white light, then later reflecting red light

Weather Conditions: Perfect weather, sunny , not a cloud in the sky

Description: Sitting in the back yard, I noticed what I thought to be a tinfoil balloon flying overhead. After watching for a few seconds I noticed the balloon not to be traveling upwards or randomly but in a perfectly linear path west to east at about 500 feet. Approximate diameter was about 15 feet.

While travelling it turned from chrome to a brilliant white light and later to a bright red. We live below a small plane and military flight path so I do know the difference between different types of aircraft.....so what was this that I saw?
