Description: We were sitting outside on a boat dock looking at the stars when we noticed a hovering object in the distance. It had a row of flashing horizontal lights that were pulsating. It remained what appeared to be stationary for quite a while and during that time it seemed we were transfixed or unable to move. It also seemed to be emitting a low hum and an energy as it moved closer to us. After a time it moved away and we able to stand up and leave. I remember the fear I felt after it left. About two weeks later I was traveling back to Victoria by bus via Port McNeill and on a stop for lunch in a small town, perhaps Comox (I can't remember exactly which town) I saw a newspaper article on the front page with a picture and a description of the object we saw. Apparently, it had been witnessed by others. I've never reported this sighting but I've never forgotten the impact it had on me then and now.
