In August of 1978 I was working my shift from 2pm to 9 pm, the usual route I travelled was from Bayers Road to the Bi Hi (Bicentennial Highway) then turn off to the Karney Lake Road Halifax. The time of day was 9.10pm, it was a clear night no clouds in sight. As I drove towards the small bridge that is about half way from Karney Lake Road to the Hammonds Plains Rd intersection I happened to catch from the corner of my eye a very bright light in the sky. It was brighter than the stars that were out. I am not good with distances so I can only guess how high it was it was to my left, drivers side and about a mile to a mile and a half high as I looked at it.

The light seemed to split in two and one half came down towards me so fast that I thought it was a plane and going to crash. I hit my brakes so hard that I stood up on them, the light was still in view and it came to a stop about 5 feet from the road and was in front of me by a distance of no more then 30 feet. I rolled down my window and stuck my head out to see if it was still there and not a reflexion of my window, it was still there. At that moment the light that was round in shape split into 3 lights it made a perfect triangle, as I watched it it did not move for about 30 seconds when a car came up behind me about 500 ft, as the car came closer the lights moved to my right very slowly into a small wooded area. Still in the form of a triangle. This shook me to the point where I drove home from there shaking, and told my wife what had happened. I went back to the same spot on several different times but never saw it again.

PS I do not do drugs and I do not drink, I did smoke. I was not on any medications, have you heard of anything looking like that, if so what is it? Would like to know by the way I was in my early 30s when this happened.
