UFO Sighting Report - Cyprus
June 11th 2003 : Near Limassol
Location: nr. Limassol in Cyprus

Departure Direction: Out to sea
Witness Direction: Towards Limassol (west?)
Description: I was a rear seat passenger in a car driven by a friend. Another person occupied the front passenger seat.
We were returning from Nicosia to Limassol on the night in question. The weather was good and the sky clear.
As we reached the outskirts of Limassol, I noticed through the front wind screen a large ball of red to orange approaching from the centre of town and drew my companions' attention to it.
My friend is a careful driver and we were not moving fast so were able to track the unusual light as it followed the coast line at a low speed in our direction.
It must have been low in the sky because whenever a tall building came along the light disappeared from view until it emerged a few seconds later.
As we crossed paths there was no mistaking the fact that we were looking at a ball of red to orange flames. We did not stop but I was able to watch from the rear window as the light began to rise in the sky. There was no change in colour but it did become smaller and eventually I could not see it any more.
