Location: On Highway 19 between Waikoloa and Mauna Lani Resorts on the Big Island of Hawaii, USA

Number of objects: 10 to 12

Shape of objects: Bright torch like lights outlining the Mauna Kea Mountain which lite up brightly and then faded out

Weather Conditions: It was a little windy but clear with a little fog

Description: I was driving between Puako Beach and Waikoloa Beach Resort and as I passed the entrance to Mauna Lani Resort, I noticed some lights on the slopes of Mauna Kea. At first I thought that they were interesting but then as they grew in intentisty, I was fascinated by their brightness and I pulled my car over and looked. They were so big I felt like I could touch them. There was about 12 I would guess and they outlined a dome all the way to the top of the mountain which is over 14,000 feet!!! As I sat and watched they started to fizzle out as if their fuel was running out and one by one they went out. Total time might have been 2 minutes.
