March 1st 2005

UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Name: Paul

Location: Auckland/ New Zealand

Date: 03/01/05 Between 1.00am and 1.30am Local Time. Unsure of exact time.

Approach Direction: West

Departure Direction: South

Witness Direction: South

Description: Noticed bright red object in the sky. This object was entirely lit red and was circular. Object was flying away from me during the entire sighting.

It made no noise at all and if it had been an aircraft I would of definately of heard the engines from the distance I observed it from at first.

It was decreasing it's altitude while it was flying away but not drasticly. When object was about 20 kilometres away from me (approx) it suddenly changed it direction and started flying to my right at same altitude. Neighbouring houses then blocked my view and object was not seen again.

Color/Shape: Red. Circular. No Noise.

Height & Speed: Could not possibly say. Not flying at super high speed but definately faster then aircraft that fly by in this area.

Follow-up information from Brian Vike:

Paul when you first noticed the red object, how close do you feel it was away from your location at that time. I know you said it was approx: 20 kilometers when it turned, but I am wondering how close it actually was at it's closest to you ?

I would say it was about 5 kilometres away from me when I first noticed the object.

Also, did you have a pet close by you, or were you aware of any pets in the area or yours acting up as this event was unfolding ?

I have a pet dog who was inside at the time. I recall not noticing any barking from him inside or from any other animal within the area.

Can you please tell me what the weather conditions were that early morning ?

It was a fine and clear sky. Only a few clouds were in the sky. The object actually flew through one of the clouds during the sighting.

Were any aircraft seen in the area at the time of the sighting ?

There was no other aircraft at the time.

Did the red object flash or blink at anytime ?

Were you also able to see any other lights on it ?

No. The whole object was lit red. Indicating to me with no doubt at all that the object was round/circualar.

Was there a tail or trail following behind it ?

Not that I recall

Were there any other witnesses to this event, if so would you ask them to email me with their report please. Every bit of detail is important.

No. Only my mother who I called out to. By the time she made it outside the object had changed direction to my right. She could only see a red object briefly untill the neighbouring houses blocked the view. By that time it was impossible for her to see what I had seen.

Describe the area in which you made the sighting. Is it near an airport? An Air Force Base? A military or research installation of any kind?

We do have a international airport in Auckland. Though I have been outside every night since the sighting and have seen aircraft in the same area fly past. The engine noise of aircraft is definately heard. (The object made no noise at all) Also aircraft in area I have viewed fly at a higher altitude. I do not know exactly but I have not seen any aircraft during the early hours of the morning either.

How long, time wise were you able to view the object for ? From start to finish.

Approx 1 - 2 Minutes.

When you first saw it, did the red object make any unusual moments in the sky before changing direction ? Also when it did finally make the change in direction, did it appear to make a sharp turn ?

The object was flying straight and was decreasing altitude but not drasticly. When turning right it did this suddenly. I don't know if turning is the correct term for this. It just started heading right with no indication like a aircraft would make when having to turn.

I have always had a interest in UFO's. I was always indecisive as to their existant. After this experience I know that they do exist. I can totally say that seeing is believing.

Also I can 100 percent say that this was not a aeroplane. No noise was emitted at all and when I first saw the object. It was totally apparent to me that this was a circular/ saucer shaped craft. It flew so smoothly.
