UFO Sighting Report - New Zealand

Please note that the reports in this section have been submitted to UFOINFO/UFO ROUNDUP and accepted in good faith. No investigation has been carried out by UFOINFO.

With the increasing use of digital cameras we are seeing more photos showing alleged 'UFOs' - many of these could be insects, cloud shapes etc. As many readers have asked to see the photos I will be using some of them and leaving it up to the individual to make up their own mind - John @ UFOINFO.

UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Hira, Nelson

Date: sat 19th 2006 about 2 am local {not exact}

Approach Direction: from the ground up

Departure Direction: from the sky down

Witness Direction: west

Description: We have a large floor to ceiling window that covers the entire wall of the bedroom and I like to watch the stars before I go to sleep. I was amazed to see a bright circular ball of light come up suddenly from behind the trees and shoot off up into the stars at a tremendous velocity. It went up at a slight angle but soon disappeared. I was a bit perplexed as to what it was but it came back about half an hour later and I saw it for longer. It was very high and travelling very fast breaking and wobbling a little as if there was some turbulence. If it had been a plane it would have been travelling and many thousands of miles per hour but it also come straight down on nearly the same path that it had left on.

Color/Shape: circular or sperical white glowing light

Height & Speed: in the dark there was no relative objects to gauge this against.

Secrets of UFOs: Kecksburg UFO Crash
- DVD

On December 9, 1965, hundreds of witnesses saw an object crash in the woods near the small Pennsylvania town of Kecksburg. The official government report said the object was simply a meteorite. But eyewitnesses to the event disagree. Some say they saw the object change direction and emit a vapor trail before crashing. Others claim to have seen the object up close. They describe it as a copper-colored, acorn-shaped object with strange writing on it. Whatever crashed in Kecksburg, it quickly drew the attention of the U.S. military. They reportedly recovered the object, loaded it onto a flatbed truck and took it to Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
