Location: Tauranga Bay, Northland New Zealand

Date: December 4th 2009

Time: Approximately 10pm

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 2

Shape of objects: Like a falling star

Weather Conditions: Perfectly clear

Description: While stargazing we were facing west and noticed, in the Southern sky, shooting stars. Then we see one shooting North, away from the Southern horizon. Then it did a 90 degree turn towards the East, then another turn back North and another turn to the West then it turned North again and shot off and disappeared. Both of us were astounded, we know that shooting stars do not make sharp turns. A few moments later another one appeared and it also did several sharp turns and then disappeared into the Northern sky. We are both educated people and understand this event is not a common occurance. We also understand that satellites do not move that fast, in fact we saw several satellites moving at a snails pace compared to our "shooting stars". We don't know what we saw only that it definitely was "unidentified".
