Location: Taupo, New Zealand

Date: April 24 2010

Time: 10.30pm

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 5

Shape of objects: Large orange ball leading light with dark saucer-shape attached behind, and large orange ball with dimly lit elliptical shape above.

Weather Conditions: High cloud moonlit balmy night. Sightings were below cloud and flying cross-wind.

Description: 1st appeared as large orange light attached to large saucer shaped body followed within a minute by 2 more similar balls. 2 minutes or so later 2 more followed with the last looking a little more like a dimly-lit hot air balloon above a bright orange light-ball, but flying cross-wind to the nor-northeast. The wind was blowing from the west @ 6mph. There was no sound except for neighbourhood dogs howling. We thought we were getting a good film clip but the camera (or operator) malfunctioned.

Additional information:

I realise I didn't explain my sighting very clearly, but I feel I must add that the body of the first craft was frighteningly large, and all the sightings I would estimate to be within 2000 feet above us.
