Could your sighting be a UFO balloon/lantern?: Yes

Weather Conditions: Fine

Description: A bright green object flying straight down, not falling, no meteorite trail streaking across the sky, not a balloon or a lantern(unless it was hal)

From where we saw it it could have impacted maybe 50 to 100 kms away did not see a crash or an impact but sure as hell was moving at a high velocity. Otumoetai, Sherwood Road facing towards north east maybe White Island direction.
