Weather Conditions: Clear windless night sky

Description: We saw a bright yellowy orange light approaching from a southerly direction. It was relatively low, at approximately 5000 metres from the ground.

The light appeared to be emanating from the bottom some sort of dark object. The light did not have a beam, but rather seemed to be radiating from the object.

The light seemed to continue in a northerly direction. It would then stop for a second or two, where-after it would then move rapidly left or right. This was repeated a couple of times.

Thereafter, it suddenly started to move upwards at a speed that is difficult to describe. Within four seconds the light was barely visible and then it suddenly disappeared.

The sighting lasted for about 5 to 6 minutes.
