UFO SIGHTING REPORTHollingworth, Longdendale, EnglandJuly 31st 2004Sighting Form Report: Name: On File Location: Hollingworth in Longdendale. North West England. United Kingdom Date: 31/07/04 17:29 GMT Approach Direction: From West Departure Direction: Moving East, South East, as it moved from right to left in my line of vision but gradually getting smaller. Witness Direction: South Description: I was looking out towards Kinder Scout from Hollingworth ( I think that's southwards) and right in the middle of my view there was a black object, kind of hovering/ floating. It looked almost like a black pipe floating along in the air very slowly but smoothly, as if it were being blown gently by the wind. It was in a vertical position but at a slight angle. After about 5 minutes, I used some binoculars to look at it and it appeared that it was slowly spinning as it was floating, in a way that every 10 or 15 seconds, a lighter side would come into view, as if it were reflective, a grey metallic colour opposed to black. It's a very bright sunny day and there were no clouds in the sky. The sighting lasted about 15 minutes and the object floated off into the distance until I could no longer see it. Color/Shape: Black, pipe shaped. Standing vertical at a slight tilt. Appeared to be slowly spinning as every so often it would reflect a grey metellic colour. Height & Speed: I'm not very good at these sort of estimations, maybe about 600ft up. No, actually I think it may have been much more than that as when I first saw it, it appeared to be at the same level as Kinder Scout behind it, only much closer. |
