Between Coggeshall Hamlet and Kelvedon, Essex, England

July 8th 2006

UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Between Coggeshall Hamlet and Kelvedon, Essex, UK

Date: 08/07/2006 22:50-23:00 BST (local time)

Approach Direction: from South West

Departure Direction: North East

Witness Direction: Looking South East from Coggeshall hamlet

Description: approximately 14 round orange lights in the sky, slowly traversing from SW to NE, in a loose linear formation of pairs, gently rising and dispersing.

I am of the view that these were probably paper hot air balloons or balloons carrying chinese lanterns, probably released somewhere around Kelvedon or Rivenhall shortly before the sighting, which the prevailing wind carried north east and dispersed.

Lights gradually disappeared, possibly as a result of cloud cover or the source of light extinguishing.

Believe this may be related to the sighting on 25 May reported on this site.

Color/Shape: Orange, circular lights

Height & Speed: cannot estimate height as no indicator of size existed. Approximately 20 degrees elevation above horizon, speed was very slow

TV/Radio/Press: N/A
