Departure Direction: to the north

Witness Direction: west

Description: I was sat in my back garden watching the metor shower, just as I have done since I was a small boy. I'd seen the space shuttle come over head earlier at about 22:05.

I had just spotted a slow burning metor moving high up (east to west) when I suddenly saw what you would expect to be metorites two moving towards each other. Wow! I've never see anything like it. I can only describe them as two round disc's, almost see through but for a ball in the middle. One had a black or dark ball, the second had a redish, browny, come orange coloured ball in the middle. I then saw that they were not high enough to be metorites. What really spooked me was that they seemed to be heading towards each other as if they were going to crash. Then they changed direction, moving away from each other, then back again, then away again. It was like they were playing tig. The dark one was in front of the coloured one. But it then seemed to speed up and catch the dark one. They then sped off towards the north. This all took less than 15-25 seconds.

I'm an experienced star watcher. It has been my hobby since I was young. I'm now a company director and you would describe me as a level headed type of guy. What scares me is that I cannot explain with any logic or reason what took place last night or what I saw.

I've posted the details of this strange event in the hope that somebody else may have also seen it.

Color/Shape: Two discs, almost see through, apart from a ball in the centre of the disc. One was dark or black, the second was a shade of red, brown, and orange.

Height & Speed: Can't be sure on the exact height but I would guess at around 30,000 ft. They were traveling at high speed, far too fast for plane. They then sped off at what I can only descibe as amazing speed.

TV/Radio/Press: No chance. They would think I'm mad!
