UFO Sighting Report - United Kingdom

October 19th 2007 : Near Oswestry, Shropshire, England

UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Approx 4 miles SW of Oswestry Shropshire

Date: 19 Oct 2007

Time: 19:15 approx

Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 2

Weather Conditions: Clear sky slightly cold fresh

Description: 2 Orange red lights in sky, steady movement from east to west and no flashing therefore not standard aircraft lights. Not helicopters. No sound. Both followed same horizontal track, height could not be judged, distance apart could only be judged by relating it to length of index finger, moving slowly, speed could not be judged accurately. At a specific point in sky first light appeared to move upwards rapidly, the light got smaller, dimmer and then faded to nothing. Second light got to same point in sky and did the same.

In a follow-up e-mail the witness wrote:

Dear John

Location was approx 4 miles SW of Oswestry Shropshire. Lights were moving roughly from east to west; when we first saw them they were probably due south of Oswestry.

We looked at the UFO balloon site on the night, and rather decided that floating balloons would only show the sudden apparent change in altitude if they had hit heavy updrafts from the ground. However it was cold - we think warm thermals would have been unlikely. The change in altitude or direction seemed far less random than one might associate with balloons.
