Date: November early 2007

Time: Around midnight

Number of witnesses: 1

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Small light, very high up, so couldn't determine a shape.

Weather Conditions: Cold, clear, dark, slight cloud in places. It was the same week as Bonfire Night in the UK, but the smoke and fireworks from any earlier parties had cleared by midnight.

Description: Merstham, Surrey (Google Map of location) close to the M25/M23 interchange, early November (possibly the 6th, 7th or 8th) 2007, around midnight.

It was a light moving very, very fast, very high up, doing strange manoeuvres that no aircraft I've ever seen could possibly have done. I'd briefly thought it was a firework or shooting star, except it was travelling rapidly from East to West and didn't burn out so I assumed it must be a satellite in orbit. Suddenly, it took a couple of high-speed u-turns, zig-zagged, then darted off behind a cloud.

My only guess was that it must have been some kind of shiny new military technology that we plebs haven't been told about yet. I believe that there's almost certainly life on other planets, I can't imagine that it would travel all the way here just to mess about doing aerobatics over a motorway interchange in South-East England. After a look at this list, I can confirm that it was pretty much identical to the Somerset sighting from 8th November 2007
