Weather Conditions: Clear but behind a cloud
Description: We saw a a large circular beam of light with no shaft behind a large cloud. The light moved extremely quickly very irratic movements from side to side stopping very quickly and then moving again. Almost like holding a torch behind a sheet. The speed at which the light was moving suggested it was neither helicopter nor aircraft.
It would then vanish and suddenly return in a different place.
I have no expanation as to what it could have been. It continued for at least 20 minutes until it was no longer in our sight.
We felt it inappropriate to report this however after listening to a similar incident on Radio 5 decided to look on the internet and report this incident.
I have since travelled this journey a number of times since 11 January however have not seen the light since.
