UFOINFO Sighting Form Report
Date: 12 July 2008
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 2
Shape of objects: round/bright orange blur
Weather Conditions: mostly clear but some cloud
Description: myself and my wife had gone outside to bring one of our cars onto our drive from the main road.
After parking the car on the drive, I looked towards the rear of our house and noticed 2 orange lights in the sky.
We have several trees behind our house and where there was a gap in the branches, I could clearly see 2 bright lights.
I asked my wife who was with me, what she thought they might be and she said that they looked a cross between flairs and street lights.
I agreed with her description and sent her inside to get my camera.
She gave me the camera and I tried to find the lights between the trees in the view finder but I couldn't really see anything.
Within seconds, both lights seemed to rise slowly into the sky before disappearing out of sight.
On entering the house again, the wife and me both discussed what we had seen and what we thought we had seen.
We are both aware that similar things had been seen not only in this country but in our district quite recently but one of those sightings had been ruled out has being the moon.
But I can tell you now on behalf of myself and my wife that what we saw was neither the moon, distress flairs, street lights, fireworks or any type of aircraft so we will have to call it a UFO sighting !!
TV/Radio: I will be contacting the local press after the weekend.
UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:
Thanks for the reply.
After looking at the video on the ufoballoons website, there is a possibility that this is what we saw last night.
I suppose that the only way of ruling this out is by trying out one of these balloons for ourselves to see the similarity?
[I have advised the witness about the fire risk associated with these balloons/lanterns - John @ UFOINFO]
We happen to live in a very small area with one main local newspaper so I will contact them to see what the response is from the locals themselves.
Here is a link to our newspaper http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/news/UFO-sighting-claim/article-203707-detail/article.html
The Penzance lady in the first article happens to live just a few streets away from me so I will try and get in contact with her as well.
Thanks again for getting to me John and for the link also.
