UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Carlton, Nottingham

Date: 13th July 2008

Time: 10 - 10.15pm

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Bright orange light almost in the shape of a disfigured cross

Weather Conditions: mild, calm and not many clouds

Description: I was sat on my settee in the lounge at the front of my house when I noticed a bright orange/red light in the sky. It thought it was a police helicopter at first but soon realised that there was no sound. It travelled very fast and I shouted to my husband to come and see. We had to go to the back of the house to see it as it had travelled so far withing the space of 10 seconds. THen all of a sudden it stopped and went straight up and disappeared. The whole thing lasted about 5 minutes. There was no sound so there was no plausible explanation. If I was on my own I would have declared myself insane. However, my husband who is a sceptic, could not think of any reasonable explanation for it either. I told some close family and friends about it this morning and they told me to go online to see if anyone else had reported anything. When I logged on to this website I was amazed at how many stories were very similar to mine and it has made me feel slightly uneasy. I swear I did not "google" it.

UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:

Hi John

I am such a sceptic that I have already looked at this. It cant possibly be UFO balloons as it moved to quickly and seemed far too big to be a "balloon. Believe me I would love a serious explanation for this and even my friends at work have suggested it was a "GAS" bubble of some sort i.e balloon. You really had to be there to see this image. Far too quick to be a "gas" or perhaps I am not so academically informed !! My friend is an expert scientifically and I don't think she believes me and what I saw. If it was just me I would really question it but my husband saw it too and he is the worlds best sceptic ever !!! I only saw 1 image and described it to a couple of "very close" friends as being a distorted sign of a cross. I would not discuss this with anyone else as I really am afraid people will think I am mad and I cam guarantee you I am pretty sane !!
