Shape of objects: Oblong

Weather Conditions: intermittent cloud, but mainly clear

Description: At 10:33pm on the evening of 07/11/08 i saw coming from the west heading in a north easterly direction, what looked like a bright Orange object travelling at about 10,000ft, maintaining constant speed and altitude, similar to a small light aircraft. At closer inspection through binoculars, it seemed to be flames. It looked like the wings of a light aircraft which were on fire, but with no fuselage and no sound. I saw this from my Basildon Observatory.

TV/Radio: Nothing has been reported.

UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:

Thanks for getting back to me,

I did take a look at the video clip that you sent me the link to, and No, what I saw from my Observatory was one object and must have been at least 20ft or 30ft wide. It wasn't like anything else I have seen, as an Astronomer I have been making Observations of the sky's for some time now, and this was particularly odd.
