Location: Knaphill, Woking, United Kingdom
Date: 06 29 2009
Number of witnesses: 2
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Round orb, blush orange glow
Weather Conditions: Clear and calm
Description: My husband and I were sitting having supper in the garden as it had been a very hot day. As we sat there, an orange light started approaching from the East. At first we thought it was a police helicopter with a search light, but the light was not white, it was an orange glow, and more importantly there was no helicopter attached to it! We are used to a large amount of air traffic, small and large as we are in an area where there are lots of army bases and small airports. We are therefore familiar with most aircraft noises and lighting arrangements. We have all manner of army craft flying over. However, this was NOT like anything we had seen before. Firstly, it was a very calm evening, so calm that we could hear trains going past over a mile away. The object made no noise at all. It was totally silent. It was glowed orange, but in a misty way, almost like it had a halo around it. It moved straight accross the sky above us but then moved around in a random fashion and then nipped away at great speed and disappeared. Can anyone tell me what this was?
UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:
I looked and it was definitely NOT a balloon. It moved like an aircraft at a relatively fast pace across the sky, then moved randomly and then shot off at great speed and disappeared. It was an absolutely calm night. Not a breath of wind and no cloud.
I was rather hoping the explanation would be something like a balloon, but it must have been something else. Any ideas?
