Location: Southsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire

Date: August 9th 2009

Time: 11.07pm

Number of witnesses: 2

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Circular

Weather Conditions: Clear with slight cloud

Description: Bright orange object, glided across the sky, north west to south, quite low, stopped for a couple of seconds then curved to the left before disappearing upwards. no sound, no wind and an aeroplane was high above.

TV/Radio: No reports.

UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:

Thanks for replying especially under your personnel circumstances. I do hope all is well now for you.

I have read the information on Chinese lantern/UFO balloon and many other options that people keep on trying to explain, but none of these were what me and my friend saw that night.

We know what we saw. We are intelligent people and it was a UFO. A very beautiful sight.
