My name is [removed] and I work permanent nights for Nottinghamshire County Council and drive from Mansfield to Nottingham 3 nights a week. I have never reported a sighting as I have never seen one before, until last night that is 4th September (2009).
I was driving out of Ravenshead towards Nottingham at 9.55 pm I'm in a MG so quite a low car, the first light went from right to left as I only saw this in my peripheral. I thought I had maybe seen a owl flying quite low above me, didn't take much notice other than it was low, when this happened again a mile or so further on I then thought maybe traffic coming in the other direction their lights could have been reflecting off my bonnet and making the light above me, but there had been no traffic coming in the opposite direction.
When I justified the light being possibly a owl, I came to a stretch along the road with no traffic at the front and no traffic behind me which is strange in itself as this road is usually busy, so whatever it was I was ready for it, if it was to happen again, it did, a further 3 lights flew over my car on my journey, they were not sharp piercing lights, more like something slightly thicker than clouds a kind of mass moving not particularly fast my own speed was only 30 mph the mass would probably be the width of my car the depth being about 2ft and tailing off to 7 inches really strange.
I'm not a UFO follower and I am neither a believer or non believer, I came on this website as soon as I returned from my nightshift this morning to see if anyone else maybe had the same experience, I'm still scratching my head about it and trying to find a explanation, I didn't know if I was to send this information to someone or what to do with it to be honest so I sent it you, do what you wish with this info, I was slightly uncomfortable to say the least.
