Number of witnesses: 3

Number of objects: 1

Shape of objects: Cone Shaped

Weather Conditions: Snow, Wind, Dark

Description: On the way to the shop I had to pull the car over and Harrison (my son) and I watched as an object whizzed around the skies. It wasn't a plane and it wasn't a helicopter, it moved too fast and manoeuvred too quickly. There was no sound. It looked like fire surrounded the bottom of it, or it was glowing bright orange underneath, enough to give a lens flare effect, it seemed cone shaped and it wobbled as it moved. Never seen anything like it before in my life.

As I stood there an man came out of his house, I asked him to come stand with me so that someone else could see what I was looking at.

I can’t think of any explanation for it, they way it moved was erratically controlled – yes I know that’s an oxymoron.

Would love to hear if anyone else reported this.

This happened at 17:20 tonight, Croft Avenue, Acklam 17/12/2009

TV/Radio: I emailed the local paper to see if anyone else saw this. No response yet.

UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:

Hello John,

The sighting I reported was definitely not a lantern or balloon, its movements were too erratic. I have seen many lanterns over the holidays, my sighting was distinctly different to these.
