Shape of objects: Like a big star

Last night at 10pm I saw what looked like a big orange star in the sky. I watched it for 2-3 minutes then it suddenly changed to silver like another star and went off at a very fast pace in an exact 220 degree direction.

I am not a nutter, I am 64 years old. Definitely not an airplane, helicopter or chinese lanterns I am used to watching these. Also it was stationary for too long to have been these. Conditions were slightly overcast but could see the stars.
