UFOINFO Sighting Form Report
Location: Dover, Kent, England
Date: April 29 2010
Number of witnesses: 3
Number of objects: 1
Shape of objects: Orb
Weather Conditions: Light wind, thin cloud cover.
Description: Walking home with my wife, and daughter having just attended an evening concert at my daughter's school, out of the corner of my eye I noticed an orange orb shaped object approaching Dover from a south westerly direction, moving faster than aircraft would normally do. As we watched it come over the town it was clear that this was not an aircraft. It was a bright orange orb surrounded by a scarlet coloured circle. It was about ten times larger than Venus would appear to the naked eye. There were no flashing lights that are always visible on aircraft and there was no sound. It was travelling on a straight course at no higher than 1000 feet. Suddenly while continuing to travel in the same general direction it began to move eratically in a zig zag pattern up and down and side to side in short sharp movements. Then in the blink of an eye it was no longer there. The overall sighting probably lasted about 30 seconds. This was an amazing thing to see, as we have never seen anything move this way in the sky before, I am not aware of any man-made craft that can eratically zig zag as this did.
UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:
Thanks for your e-mail regarding my reported sighting on the 29th April. I had already viewed the video and information about ufo balloons before I sent you my sighting report and I can assure you that what we saw in the sky was not one of those balloons. Looking at the video footage the balloons appear to flicker as the flame blows in the wind. What we saw was a steady (ie non flickering) much brighter light, and as I said in the report, the orange orb was surrounded by a vivid scarlet red circle. Also there is no way that a balloon would have been able to eratically zig zag up and down and go from side to side in the way that this object did. In addition the speed at which the object was approaching was very fast, and the wind on that evening was only light at the time, and a balloon would simply have been drifting along rather than moving with some purpose. Hope this information is helpful.
