Weather Conditions: Warm clear night. Quite windy.

Description: I was taking the dog for her last walk of the day before bed. She stopped to do her business so I stopped too. I looked up at the sky and could see all the stars as it was a clear night, then out of the blue a bright purple/blue orb appeared in the sky. It was stationary for about 5 seconds then it looked like flashed or disappeared and reappeared very quickly 3 times, then moved across the sky heading north east for maybe a mile or so, it didn't look far, then completely disappeared again.

This is the second thing I have seen in the sky that I cannot explain. The other was only 5 days earlier and I have never seen anything before this time.
