UFOINFO Sighting Form Report

Location: Wakefield West Yorks

Date: Forget exact date but it was February 1977 2 am local time

Approach Direction: from Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Departure Direction: Towrds Crigglestone/Woolley/Barnsley

Witness Direction: Towards Wakefield - we were on a hill looking over the town - Crigglestone overlooks Wakefield

Description: My girlfriend at the time also witnessed this. We saw it as we were walking home together. Coming towards us from Wakefield a bright white ball of light. At first we thought it must be a plane flying towards us. As it got nearer we realised there was still no sound. Then as it was perhaps at a 45 degree elevation from us - it took off at incredible speed - upwards into the starfield - absolutely no sound - it moved so fast you could barely follow it with your eyes and by moving your head etc.

Color/Shape: White ball like - very bright.

Height & Speed: Difficult to estimate height - speed of approach slow - speed of departure - difficult to calculate - as have never seen anything like this before.

TV/Radio/Press: Not reported as far as I know and I never reported it.
