Location: Seven Sisters top of Buncombe Hill Broomfield on Quantock Hills Somerset

Date: Autumn 1979

Time: Late evening

Number of witnesses: Two

Number of objects: One

Shape of objects: Obscure * bright light traveling across very uneven ground. Approx three feet above thick gorse and bracken. Coming towards us without even any fluctuations.

Weather Conditions: dry and clear

Description: as at shape of object--- the object came up a steep hill over uneven ground with no footpaths. It was hovering just clearing the top of bracken and gorse bushes we were in a car at the top of a track alongside the ring of trees known locally as the seven sisters near the pines cross roads above the village of Enmore, there is no way any human walking, in a vehicle or on a motor cycle could have came over the terrain without there being any movement in the beam of light. When it was about 30 feet away from us I am afraid my nerve went. I drove down that hill as quick as I could. As I pulled away the object passed over our heads just clearing the top of our car in complete silence. We drove off and didn't stop for about 3 miles.

We have told a few people about this over the past 30 years. But we never reported it for fear of being laughed at by people who would not believe it possible.
