Approach Direction: From the sky

Departure Direction: towards the sky zig zaggy

Witness Direction: We were facing the object

Description: Me and a friend were sitting at an alley way in hillfield road. It sits at the top of the town and you san see great views of the river forth. It was a lovely summers night and we could see all the stars as the sky was so clear. We were looking at the stunning view and chatting away then we noticed a bright ball of light appear in the sky. It was like nothing we'd ever seen before. It started to slowly move down from the sky untill it got close to the water, then it suddenly shot towards Dalgety bay within seconds then shot back towards portlaing within about 5 seconds then it shot back up going in zig zag directions untill it disappeared far into the sky. No normal transport could do that!! Me and my friend went white with shock at the sight of this and he ran to the phonebox to report it to the coastguard. They said They have had hundreds of calls reporting the same thing and they'll get back to us...They never did! I'll never forget that night for as long as I live, I even have shivers going up my spine just writing about it!!

Color/Shape: Bright white round shape. Very bright!

Height & Speed: It came from high in the sky and could move faster than anything Ive ever seen.

TV/Radio/Press: Coastguard said it had other reports.

Follow-up Report from Brian Vike:

The whole event lasted for about 6 or 7 minutes. The UFO appeared in the north of the sky and slowly kind of hovered down till it got near the water. Then it zoomed to Dalgely Bay and back again to north Queensferry ( about roughly 10 miles) within a minute!

The Rosyth Navel Dockyard close by was active at that time...it is now a ferryport.

A lot of military operations used to go on in the area as most of the farmland was owned by the MOD. their has been many sightings in the area and my sister saw one which did appear in the papers!! The one I saw was a bright ball of light, that is the only way to describe it.
