Hi Dave

I'd like to report a UFO sighting from tonight, Tuesday March 30th 1999.

I was driving home into Star at around 9pm when I looked to the NE and high in the sky was a very bright orange light hovering, slightly moving downwards. I stopped the car and watched it for about twenty seconds. Gradually it burned out. It looked like the colour of fire and it was very bright. First I thought it to be a planet however. I stopped the car and opened the window but I could not hear any sound.

It was seen roughly high above the same location as that September sighting in Drummy Woods. The conditions at the time were clear sky, almost full moon and fairly warm for this time of year. No clouds in sight.

Perhaps it could have been a plane falling, burning out of the sky but theres been nothing on the news that I've heard.

Thanks to a UFO Scotland member for this sighting report.

March 30th 1999 : Falkland Hill, Fife, Scotland

Another Sighting from ourselves to coroborrate *****'s recent sighting report. Here is an extract taken from one of our internal UFO Scotland members newsletters. This saves me having to type it all again :0) In the piece which follows, I am referring to a recent meeting, interview and attempted skywatch myself and a few of our members had recently, with a UK glossy magazine (non-ufo related), therefore,.......good publicity about the UFO phenomenon to the general public. We hope :0)

The extract follows below:
Location: Falkland Hill, Fife, Scotland
Time: Approx 9:00 pm Date: 30th March 1999.

The meeting with Neil and the photographer went really well and the recent feedback from Neil seems very positive. However, the skywatch itself was a complete washout with the weather being attrocious and visibilty NIL. The photographer attempted to take some photo's with the rain pissing down on us all and almost a gale force wind blowing us off of the top of the hill

Happily, the pics had to be re-shot as they didnt come out too well, which is no real suprise, but a sense of relief was felt by all involved as the pics themselves, with us looking all windswept and interesting, freezing and shivering, would not have made us look our best Sad perhaps but not good :0)

The second shoot went really well and we even managed to have a sighting whilst we were up the hill (Falkland Hill) posing for our pics. I'm not too sure what it was that we saw, but we both (Jeannie and I) got a good look at it through binoculars and could see no signs of any night time navigation lights what-so-ever. It was just a white glow travelling across the sky, no lights, no noise. We observed loads of air traffic over towards Edinburgh airport, but these aircraft all displayed visible nav lights etc. Whilst we were witnessing this object/phenomena, whatever? The Photographer (Colin) also sighted an orange orb type anomaly to the South East of our position, which he mentioned to us briefly. This was around 9:00 pm time.

The next day, I received a sighting report from listmember, ***** *****, who reported seeing a similar or same, orange orb-type anomaly at approximately the same time from a completely different location. This has coroborrated Colin's report and I am now looking for more witnesses to the event.(It should be said that after chatting with Colin the photographer, he came across as being very sceptical of the UFO phenomena, although pleasant, but still reported to us what he saw and he said that it just disappeared again as he was watching it). Neither Jeannie nor myself observed the orange orb type anomaly as we were looking at the white object at the same time through binoculars. I wonder if the two sightings were connected or did we just see the moon reflecting off of the fusalage of a passing jet? It was a full moon that night with clear skies and great visibility.

Personally, I don't think it was a jet or a helicopter for that matter as I did get a good look at it through the glasses and there were no navigation lights at all and it was hard to put a definate shape to the object as it appeared as just a fuzzy white light although it seemed quite close to us as it passed by us to the North-West, also heading South east. It should be noted that, this white anomaly passed by our position a lot closer to us than the easily visible, queing air traffic for Edinburgh airport, so it is safe to assume that this object should have displayed clear visible navigation lights for all to see. It did not!

Sighting: On the evening of November 3, 1997, I was sitting on the back porch of my house in the small coastal town of Crail. After reading an article in the daily newspaper I went inside to get my wife to show her the beautiful sunset. We both walked out and sat down. We viewed the multi-colored sunset. We then got to talking. And before we knew it the skies had gone dark. Just as we were preparing to go inside, a distinct feature in the sky caught our eyes. It appeared to be an oval shaped object moving parallel to the ground.

The object had a bright blueish colored lining around the outside of it. The core, if you will, was a redish orange colored. As it moved, we observed a second smaller object depart from the larger one. This was a small circular shaped aircraft and it was a solid blue. I can remember a very discrete high pithced ringing, if you will. And after about ten to fifteen minutes of observation, the smaller object, which had been circling the larger this whole time, seemed to connect or enter back into the larger object. As soon as this happened the oval shaped object proceeded to shoot straight up. It didn't shoot up so fast that it disappeared instantly though. It seemed to gradually disappear, as if it were exiting the atmosphere. This whole sighting lasted around twenty minutes and left us ! in awe.

Sighting: Returning to my car after walking my dog. Saw glowing saucer shaped object rise up from behind a small hill. No sound at all. It hovered for a few seconds then shot off in to the sky. NB I do not believe in aliens in our solar-system. It is my belief that what I saw was a secret government ship, which has been built in co-operation with other NATO governments.

To:
Name : Eye-witness Report, Name witheld by Request.
date: : 6th January 1996
location: : above Grangemouth, Falkirk. Scotland
time : 1-30am till 2-20am

Sighting: From my back door my family have a clear view of the skies over grangemouth I retired to my bed (downstairs) with my 10yr old daughter around12-45am just as i was dozing off i sensed something, a feeling, did i hear something i was`nt sure, i sat upright, my daughter was asleep, my dog was trying to get comfortable at the bottom of the bed, as i lay there thinking it was my dog i became quite scared, almost like the feeling you get on waking from a nightmare all jelly like, however i snuggled up next to my daughter and i am sure i went to sleep. I awoke with the feeling my daughter was sliding out of the bed and i reached over to pull her back into bed, a few seconds later i felt it again, i spoke this time to her, to stay in bed and as i spoke i felt scared again and i fell panicky, my dog was crying over at the window, lie down i said. Again i lay down and i heard my son running downstairs and shouting look, pointing to the window with a pair of binochulars.

"There was a plane light" I said, "No! I have been watching it for ages" said my son with his cousin "look again!" which I did and I saw a single light in the sky pulsating it seemed to be moving ever so slightly towards the east and back to where it begun, and as i was staring at it through the glasses three lights shot out from the top and two from the bottom, the small lights jaggedly danced through the air and always returning to the slightly brighter light, myself, my daughter, my son and his cousin ran up the stairs to the bedroom above and opened the window the whole window opens inward.

We stood and watched while all the lights became one one, again it moved towards the east and back, then it was as if it saw us and came towards us, it was going to go over the house, I stepped onto the window ledge looking up it was not a sphere shape as the lights flashed it left the outline of a v, the same effect you would get if you stood in a dark room and switched the light of and on you are left with a shadow of a shape.

We all ran into the front bedroom and opened the window and waited on it appearing above the house, it did, my daughter at this time was begining to hyperventilate, we were trying to keep her calm and watch at the same-time, it began to move s,se and kept going for what i would say a mile, someone shouted there was another one straight ahead, this was a plane using it`s usual flightpath towards west i glanced back at the light and it had changed directions, towards the plane, as the plane reached s,sw the light seemed to be directly ready to hit the plane there was a dark grey mist appeared and the light was gone and of course the plane was fine.

When we looked at the time it was 2,20am my son said it was about 2,00am he came downstairs. I did tell others the following day, but what proof had we got my daughter did not want anyone to know incase they all thought she was weird, my son did some sketches of that night, he said he and his cousin had been watching the light for 15minutes before he came downstairs that night.

I have heard of abductees becoming ill, headaches, memory loss, painful joints and muscular aches, is there any truth to this and if so what can a peson do? I am a or was a sceptic untill this happened, i believed in god and god only but now i am not so sure, it is as if nothing makes sense any more.

March 12th 1999 : Carnoustie, Angus, Scotland

RED DISC HOVERS OVER CARNOUSTIE, SCOTLAND

Source: UFO ROUNDUP Volume 4, Number 11
Date: March 15, 1999
Editor: Joseph Trainor

"An unidentified flying object spotted in Angus skies near Carnoustie this morning has left a number of people mystified."

"One Carnoustie resident, who sought to remain anonymous, said he had been fairly sceptical about such things but wanted an explanation for what he had seen."

"He and several members of his family, along with a Forfar couple, saw a strange red disc moving about in the sky between 6:30 and 6:55 a.m. this morning."

"Neither the Coastguard or members of staff at RAF Leuchars could shed any light on the sighting."

"'I was out walking the dog with my wife and children at the Black Slab car park this morning," (Friday, March 12, 1999) he said, "We saw this red oblong shape in the sky and it couldn't have been the moon or a star because of the way it was moving. It then just disappeared.'"

A car pulled up beside the family, and the driver stuck his head out the window. "'The man in the car said he was from Forfar and had seen the light earlier, and we could see that he was distressed.'"

The family continued walking along the beach, and, at 6:55 a.m., the UFO appeared again.

"'I'm neither a believer nor a non-believer in UFOs. But this time it changed from red to bright orange and it was much bigger,' he continued, 'Anybody looking at the sky could have seen it. It was that big. You couldn't miss it.'"

"A member of the Fife Coastguard said there had been no reports of flares or other lights."

"A spokesman at RAF Leuchars discounted any official aerial activity from the Fife airbase. 'I know of no operations in the area by any of our flights,' he said.

Carnoustie is a port city on Scotland's east coast about 60 miles (100 kilometers) northeast of Edinburgh, the capital. (See the Dundee Evening Telegram for March 12, 1999, "Carnoustie disc remains a mystery." Many thanks to Gerry Lovell for forwarding the newspaper article.)

1992/1994 : Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland

Subject: scottish sightings

Location: Fife, Scotland

Just a brief mail to let you know how interesting your site is. I have never been aware up until now of the sheer number of unexplained or strange sightings there are in Scotland. Seems like something weird is happening up here ;-)

I would like to add a couple of other sightings to your database. The first I experienced myself sometime between 1992 and 1994 in kirkcaldy fife, sorry I can't be more specific but I didn't bother to record the date or time. At the time I was living in Kirkcaldy and late on a bright sunny afternoon was looking out of my bedroom window eastwards. My house was on the north western side of the town and the bedroom afforded good view across the back of the town. I noticed what at first apperance seemed to be a low flying aircraft moving at a fairly slow pace north to south just above the rooftop of a block of flats opposite. I guess it would have been at a height of between 100 and 300 feet and moving at somewhere between 50 - 100mph. It's distance from me I would guess would be about 3 - 4 miles which would place it out to the east of Kirkcaldy in the direction of Dysart

After looking closely there were no signs that this was a plane, it was oviously metallic as the late afternoon sun was reflecting brightly off of it but it seemed circular in shape and seemed to be spinning. After about two minutes it moved out of my sight.

I'm quite sceptical about this and would like to think what I saw was a plane however living close to Edinburgh airport and Leuchars base this sighting doesn't fit with normal aircraft behaviour. The object certainly was traveling too slow to be a commerical or military jet and seemed too large to be a light aircraft. Also the form of the craft was wrong, admittedly the reflection of sunlight off of an aircrafts fuselage can be decieving but this was too close and the form too clear to be mistaken.

1990/1992? : Near Kinghorn Loch, Fife, Scotland

The second sighting was by a member of my family a couple of years earlier than the above sighting. I don't have precise details but if you wanted more information I'm sure I could get it. This person had no prior interest in Ufos and has no reason to lie about. The story is backed up by a friend that was also in the car at the time. Basically they were travelling from Kirkcaldy to Burntisland and were on the back road that passes by Kinghorn Loch. It was late at night but I believe it was good weather and there was clear visibilty.

After passing the Loch on the right they went round a bend in the round and saw a large disc shaped object hovering to the side of a hill. Quite remarkably they reported a bright light coming from the object beaming onto the field below. They drove on and lost sight of the object but the incident certainly had an effect on both witnesses because since then the memeber of my family has become interested in the Ufo phenomenom and is interested in finding out what it was they saw.
