UFO Sighting Report - United Kingdom
2008 & 2009 : Three reports from Kent, England
UFOINFO Sighting Form Report
I live in Dover and have seen a number of strange objects in the sky locally and in other parts of Kent.
December 31st 2008 : Temple Ewell, Dover, Kent, England
1.) New Year eve, 3 orange balls floating at different heights above Temple Ewell. These were seen from the road whilst driving past Dover Castle and also whilst driving down Connaught Hill. The Orange balls were originally thought to be Military pop flares, however they were very bright and one was seen to ascend slowly whilst the other two remained motionless. Their height was between 100 and 200 feet. Time approx 11 pm. The assumed area over which these objects were seen is MOD property. Similar objects were seen by my daughter in Ringwould, which is a small village west of Deal.
UFOINFO Note: As with other similar reports I asked the witness to have a look at the UFO Balloons website to see if this is what might have been seen and received the following reply:
Thanks for the reply, I witnessed Chinese lanterns being released in Plymouth earlier this year and can confirm that the objects I/we witnessed were much larger and brighter, also the balloons I saw in Plymouth had a flickering quality and rose quite swiftly. I have since spoken with my daughter again and the precise location of her sighting was at the sea front in Deal, Kent. They were a little way out to sea and moving west to east. I noticed a report with pictures in the Daily Mail (Thurs 4/6/09), I am pleased that these things are becoming more high profile. Regards
May 21st 2009 : Ripple, Deal, Kent, England
2.) 21/5/09, 11.20 am. Observed from Playing field at Ripplevale School where I work. Small dart shaped object travelling extremely fast (1-2000 mph) and not making a noise. Traveling east and then changing course to North East witnessed by a pupil also. Approximate height 500-1000 ft. The object had a flickering quality similar when seeing a bird flying you pick up the movement of the wings. Colour seemed to be silver. Ripplevale School is situated in the small village of Ripple approximately 2 miles west of Deal.
May 30th 2009 : Rochester, Kent, England
3.) 30/5/09, 2.00 pm. Observed from Rochester, Kent, object, disc shape flying fast 500-1000 ft in altitude, silver in colour and glint observed of possible perspex, again very fast and flying in a gentle descent North to South. This occurred during the Dickens festival, we were seated in the park mid way along the high street. No one else seemed to notice and it was a fleeting glimpse, just long enough to pick up details recorded. No noise experienced.
In both 2 and 3 above increased Helicopter activity was noted following the sightings.
